You definitely possess the skills of an effective writer but some facts are quite muddled. First, George Soros is not a far-right messiah but a left-wing nut who is obsessed with globalization and an open border society. He hates America, the Western civilization and President Trump, who represents the exact opposite of all he aspires for. In fact, the election of President Trump sets back as far as thirty years backward their dream of a Socialist America. Thanks anyway for sharing.

I know that Soros is not right-wing. I was talking about the equal and opposite monster on the right, of which there are also many. This piece is about how conspiratorial thinking on both the left and the right influences policy, social interaction and the ultimate decline of civilization. It is the painting of figures in such extreme and frankly irrational terms that is the general point of this piece. We have become increasingly extreme on both sides. Far left and far right eventually come around full circle into the exact same thing. The tactics may be different, but the goal is ultimately the same: world domination.

My husband had decided the person who sent the bombs is that woman doctor who accused Kavanaugh of sexual assault. When I asked him why he thought that he said she was angry because Kavanaugh got voted for supreme court anyway. Figure that one out if you can. You're right the world is crazy anymore.

You husband seems to be very angry about something that perhaps even he cannot put his finger on. I mean no disrespect here and am only commenting on what information you have given me. Frustration and buried rage over unreconciled disappointment often leads to conspiratorial thinking.

Being Australian I don't know the details of US internal politics, so I can only judge the article on the commentary rather than the content.

Having said that.... your comments on Bush, at least from an International viewpoint, are very sound. There are many victims in a conspiracy.

The whole work was professionally presented and maintained a good journalistic standard in terms of structure, knowledge and informative commentary levels. You presented argument with consistency and, importantly, with explanatory reasoning rather than unsubstantiated rantings.

Your "prophet" comment also brought to mind the Manson episode of 1969's Tate-La Bianca murders to me and the mind-control the man had over Atkins, Krenwinkle et al.

A good solid opinion piece.

Thank you and you're right to mention Charles Manson. There is a very unsettling cult atmosphere of brain-washed minions who will do the dirty work to start whatever war their god wants them to (Helter-Skelter was a race war). Look at this lunatic they just caught mailing bombs all around to famous and important people here in America. It is only the beginning, I fear. Thanks again.

Yep, pretty flipping nuts right now. The same old, worn out table-turning. And the sheeple gather round and bleat their approval. I'm not sure what their ultimate reward is for following the wolf? Trump being the wolf. And an obvious one. And as much as I loath The Donald, I can't blame him for behaving like a wolf. It is what he is. I would expect nothing less. But for people I know, used to respect, to follow him, and not blindly...with eyes wide open, is the most painful revelation.

They do follow with their eyes open, but like with any religion there is a blind faith that the questionable things you are doing and thinking will all work out in the end because God has ordained it. It is very scary. Thank you for your comments.
