Without morality we are sea creatures tossed this way and that, at danger of death every moment. Morality is a staple of life - keeps us from lying, stealing and a myriad of other sins. Faith allows us only to grab onto whatever we find is a momentary icon. Our world is a sewer because no one stops themselves from wrongdoing. Very thought-provoking, dear sir!
I hear your spirit sighing with all the weight it has. My friend, when was the last you were in church and prayed in holy mass. 'tis not faith you need, but love from those of your seed. I like to rhyme to JAYBIRD. You have lived a long life and shared it with those around you. Yet, we don't live forever and it hurts when love ones pass before us. Stay strong, my friend. Keep writing and bring smiles to those behind you.
To be devoted to faith without morality is something that for me would be impossible to do, if something is morally wrong I would have a hard time believing in it. Everyone is different, your words are poignant and food for thought, love Dolly x
You raise an interesting question. I would think that faith and morality would go hand in hand, as per "The Lord helps those who help themselves." I believe that can be extended to mean that if you want the Lord to absolve you of your sins, you need to live a moral life, so He knows you're at least attempting to avoid sin. Now that the spiritual portion of this review is over, your rhymes work very well, and your poem reads smoothly. Your message is expressed directly and clearly.
Nice rhyme and rhythm. Great message. Seems a bit to negative but you use that to make your point. Being a person of experience you know life has it challenges as you point out in your poem. The are lot of values associated to living well. I, for one, wouldn't discount many as life has many situations where one may apply more than another. We need to be freed of ridged limited thinking.
