A very well-written Etheree in perfect shape, and the subject has a fine line of circumstances, sometimes the winner cheats and make the other's life miserable that is why the loser gets discourage and feel hopeless to even try.

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY.

This etheree, The Loser's Creed, follows the one to ten format and brings up the idea that some things that seem apparent are no more than rumor. "There is no collusion." "I did not have sexual relations with that woman."

Interesting. I do feel envy when watching some stranger's great success but I'm much too shy to 'lash out'. I suppose I'm not a loser after all. Very good poem to reflect on.

This rating does not count towards story rating or author rank.
The highest and the lowest rating are not included in calculations.

Author, what a perfectly shaped etheree and very much like the nonet form, eh? Subject material most interesting too. One of the least understood and most evil human emotions is envy. That's because people don't know what envy is so typically they fabricate reasons, project and victim blame for that most insidious of the seven deadly sins that comes from within themselves. At least gluttony has its rewards. LOL. Nice light fare for Christmas though *cough* and I wish you much luck in the booth with this superb etheree.

Hello Anon, good entry for the competition. I enjoyed it, but I wouldn't worry yourself about feeling jealous, if I were you. I don't think there is anything to be jealous about. In my experience as a phsycologist, the guilty party will be madly PMing all their friends and writing poems to countermand the accusation, whereas the innocent party is often oblivious. So if they are backstabbing you, don't worry about it.

If you find you want to spread your wings as a poet elsewhere, then try instagram, I have a lot of followers there and while they don't review, it is very enjoyable. Especially if you do something else like photography. I make it a point not to PM anyone except the person involved, and I will write directly to them, and everything else I say out in the open in the reviewing box. Transparency is the best way to go. But there is cheating here, as with every site where people take it too seriously. I have experienced revenge reviews and people posting the same poem more than once, but why worry, I wouldn't take it too seriously, life is too short, cheers, and have a great day, Anastasia.

The words and artwork mesh well to let us know why gossips do what they do. They are jealous or envious and have to make themselves feel better than others. Gossips are really the true losers.

Good luck in the contest. Keep writing

Happy Holidays.

EXCELLENT ETHERREE--ONE OF THE BETTER ONES I'VE READ OF THIS FORM. A STRONG CONTENDER. Oops caps lock--sorry about that. I did not mean to shout!

:-))

I applaud the phonics of your poetic devices in all lines, especially the near-rhyme assonance of A in lack, slap, lash and hard in these lines, nicely balanced with consonance and alliteration of L and S:

Let your own lack slap you,
simmer in your worthlessness,
then lash out hard with blind envy.

I actually do not know the source, as I avoid listening to gossip (except I am sometimes the brunt of it!)

Excellent theme for Fanstorians to ponder.

Love and Light,
rd

This is so deserving of 6-stars! A perfect Etheree.
Beautiful, beautiful presentation, and I'm mostly speaking of the downward flow of the poem itself.
I really like your black font and white background.
The large italic capital 'C' in 'Crave' was perfect. I like that you typed your poem in italics.
It is obvious you put much creative thought in your words. I commend you for making such a grand statement. The success of other writers should inspire us and make each of us challenge ourselves. We should build up and encourage, and not bring others down out of jealousy or a bad attitude; that is so wrong.
Great work!!!!!!! I wish you all the best in the contest!
Blessings and hugs,
Gale
