Your description of the soul of a person is rather unique, but I can see why you described it that way from your account. I thought, however, you would say something about seeing a person's soul in their eyes, since that's what attracted you to the professor.
As for his appearance, it seems that lots of men, today, are unshaven. Why, I don't know. Are they just happy not to have to shave or do they actually think it's attractive? From the books and movies I've read and seen, professors often dress casually -in whatever is old and comfy. I think, also, to present an aura of "It's all about the brain and not the bod." At any rate, I'm glad he turned out to be a nice guy. OH - just noticed this is supposed to be fiction. So you made this up?
Very good - either way.

    Dear PM,

    Yes entirely made up.

My philosophical point is : I cannot properly see or be aware of my own soul.
I am only aware of 'soul' in someone else; when I am with someone else.

And them I am ultra-sensitive to what their soul is, what it thinks, what it might say,
its values, its opinions, what we can and cannot do together.

In other words, I am trying to look at 'soul' from a novel angle.

But that's all. My preference is to write stories that are made up in this way: half my experiences
and observations; and half completely my imagination.

    Thanks,

    Richard

    To Pome Lover,
Please advise me. Three of my neighbours are single (I'm married!) women in their 40s (I'm 67!). Did they split up because they could not share their sexual imagination with their spouse? Well, I can never ask them. But I suspect it's a lot to do with it.
So my question to you is: Should I do the next chapter of The Beach Encounter story (chs 1-3 are on FanStory) with a lot of instructive but steamy sex? That's what I plan.

    Thanks,
    Richard.

Richard, You know I can't advise you on that. Even if I knew your neighbors.
Anyway, I don't like reading detailed, steamy sex, and for sure, not instructive. But if that's what you want to write, by all means do. You're the author.

Not much of a story, but, a story that encompasses the human condition of making judgements and predgudise (atrocious spelling, I aint no English proff.)
And the beauty of each person is a whole unknown interesting world.
Happy new year.:-))Z.

I thought your had an interesting concept here. The reason for the four stars is that you have an important spelling error, that is, "prefessor" which should be professor.
Also, I recommend that you expand this piece. I think you have a good start but need more depth. Hope this helps. Best, RFL

    Thanks for your comment.

Read it a dozen times, but missed the typo, now corrected. Thanks for noticing it.

As a test piece, I will consider expanding it into a story at some point, but have
other interesting writing topics to explore first.

Am really enjoying my recent return to FanStory after a 3 year pause.

I'm sure I agree with your explanation of 'soul', but I have no better explanation, so . . .

'Dramatic present tense'? Sure. I knew that. Perhaps you have a bridge you want to sell?

I think someone is having fun.

Peace, Lee

I enjoyed your short story and never judge a book by its cover, as delights lurk behind every mask, see the man, not his clothes, wise words, much enjoyed, love Dolly x
