In my opinion, a definitive write, in smooth and dramatic construction and distinct and somber free verse. The image is dramatic and corresponds easily with the brooding elements of the poem...

SEASON'S GREETINGS SANKU: I like your posting here in that it brings to my mind this Biblical passage: "Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal. But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." MATTHEW chapter 6: at verses 19--20--and 21. Now that our God has given me this Godly advise...I agree with you with my whole being.

A Happy New Year to you as well. "Baggage" is a good term for something we don't need. It's amazing how many people feel the need to keep their problems when all it takes is, to move on. This is a good New Year's resolution.

You know, there are always those people in life who are able to pack for a trip and only take a single bag --they aren't hindered by a host of things or trying to carry everything with them wherever they go. These folks seem to live life a bit more easily. Great message!

I get the poem as far as leaving your troubles and crap behind you to start a new year. However, the disconnect for me is the picture. I don't see something being left behind or anyone smiling showing something in the background that may have been left. It just is a confusing picture to go along with your beautiful words of hope for the future. Please note that I wish you the best in 2019! Cheers, Fonda

to be frank this was the only pic that was available .I am very techno savvy and i cant transfer pics from other sources. I was looking for a picture of a person with a a bag (a traveller)
After all it is the poem that we write..

I think this may be the first time I have read your poetry. I enjoyed this poem, it has a soothing feel to this message. I like the thought of being a traveller :) We are all on a journey. I'm going to keep my smile handy this year for sure. What a great idea.
