Good poem of a struggle to find meaning in life. The structure makes clear the hopes along the way and how they fall flat. Good use of rhyme to make it read easily. I enjoyed it.

I adore the way you use the rhyme schemes. At first, I thought it was going to be a sonnet and was intrigued by the way you interspersed modern and archaic English.
Your poem inspires me to keep Kondo-ing my possessions!

This is a lovely and important poem about spiritual reawakening and realizing what really matters in life. Your rhymes work well, and your poem has a good storytelling progression. The repetition and alteration of the "I need so many things" line is very effective. I wish you luck in the contest. This is a very worthy entry.

Wow, this is such a powerful and important poem about the vanity and materialism of society nowadays. You are so right, the most important and valuable things in life cannot be bought. They are priceless. From the first line this poem captured me. These are the sorts of poems I like to both read and write myself, ones that's are raw in their honesty. This line in particular 'physical pacifiers lay waste my waking hours'. This screams of sadness and truth in today's day and age where people strive to buy possessions, and turn themselves into possessions too. A brilliant piece of poetry and prose combined. Definitely deserves a six x

I think many can relate to this. It's funny how we try to mask things, we try to bury things and cover our hurts with superficial things that mean nothing and will get us nowhere. It's crazy how we can be around so many people, yet, still feel so alone. Letting people in, letting them get close, maybe being hurt, it's all so hard. I loved this

Obviously the thing that is missing and of true value , is real and honest love. Love that is not based on material value but the kind of love that comes from deep within and comes without conditions. Nice work.

I think it tells a story just as it reads, as story of someone who finally realizes it's what you can't buy that improves your life, that turns a house into a home. Great read, good luck in the contest,
cheers.

Fascinating! I do enjoy the way you've interlaced two poems so seamlessly; it unfolds the theme of material turning to spiritual 'things' beautifully. Boredom with having everything and being alone amongst friends are sad symptoms of our times, the consequences of which shine through in your poem.
Best wishes and good luck with the contest. Peter

This so refreshing, when I was reading your poem it made reflect upon my own life and desires, and it helped put into perspective what truly matters. I too have found myself tied to material things that I though would bring joy but instead left me feeling unsatisfied. Happiness cannot be bought, and that is a less often gone untaught.

This is an excellent poem, it tells a story of desire of pysical things given in bardering of ones physical being. But seeking freedom to love without cost of ones soul.
