Hi Richard, everything you write is different, first, we learn, second, it is humor and third I admire the different words you add to make a phrase, that they are all so different and one becomes hungry for the whole poem, script, or whatever you right. It is not boring. Well done. Love Terry xoxo

    Hi Terry,

I played chess a lot till last month.

Now I am restricted for reasons of poor health.

But I write instead. No pressure.

I'm having fun, instead of going witless over finding the next chess move.

    Thanks,

    Richard.

What about 11, 11, 11? It is an opening that my partner invented to beat the computer! It involves moving all the pawns up one in a particular order! He he he, I don't know all these openings, but there are a few here that are quite tasty dishes and some sexy movers too! He he he, you made me smile! I'm loving the chess game, love Dolly x

    Hi Christine,

Yes the 11,11,11,11 system has been seen, but modern computers are not fooled. I just tried it, and ended up as -3 ie I was effectively 3 pawns down!

In fact I could name the 11,11,11,11 as the Roman Army Attack, or Legs Eleven Frontal!

And, yes, you have to be careful.
There's a Bishop next to the Queen.
Who knows what they might get up to if the King were go and lead his troops into battle!.

    Thanks,

    Richard.

I'm not sure how to react to this poem. Since I don't know the moves I don't see the humor. I don't understand the artwork either. It looks like a place mat on a chess board. I think I need feedback. LoL

    Hi Lance,

    Thanks for your review.
    .

Whatever sport you play or whatever your hobby, or whatever your job, each of these has a vocabulary.

Outsiders may be familiar with this vocabulary, but only have a vague notion of the exact meanings.

Who would have thought "Hat Trick" had anything to do with soccer?

This poem is about different ways of starting a game of chess.

Each way has a reason behind it.

It's not a random series of moves, but like how an army may start a battle. There is a definite battle plan.

    The pic is abstract art.

The lines are my art work and are an homage to Bridget Riley, the world famous artist.

The chess board is obviously connected to the poem.

    Hope that helps.

    Thanks.

I do play chess and did recognize these were opening moves. I think your poem shot by me. Thanks.

I liked this piece. It was very unique and creative. I never would have thought this would make a good subject for a poem, but it works. Nice job and keep up the good work.

    Hi Chas,

The idea came from a creative writing course, where we were asked to write a "list" poem.

    Thanks,

    Richard.
