very clever use of your words that draws ones in and that takes talent.
The photo goes well to make this come to life.
It was a pleasure to read you're fine well-penned work.

#4 Ranked Novelist
Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level
This is more tha just an aphorism, it is an aphorism with attitude. It consists of neutral words necessary in any statement to ensure sense. Here these are: 'your', 'open','and', 'it' and 'with'. This amounts to 50% (which is pretty sparsely good in itself) leaving 50% to be made up of culturally loaded words. Three soft, 'love', 'heart' and 'joy'. and two harsh, 'rips' and 'threatens'. That the two harsh words are used in a soft context is the where part of the cleverness of this one liner lies. The other part is that it is all so true.

It is unusual for me to dispense six stars on such extreme short-form poetry, but this is so well done I am going to break with my normal practice on this occasion.

Love it! The words a perfectly chosen. Great use of space to express. I like how it addresses the most profound parts of love. We all know there is an endless list of emotions, but you have cut straight to the deepest. Excellent poem.

Oh yes indeed, love does that to us. Sometimes though we are afraid to be happy and joyful, but we really need to let go and let love in.

I enjoyed this very much Artasylum. Thanks for sharing.

So much said with such a small amount of words! Love can be scary as you are opening yourself to all kinds of vulnerability but in the end it is worth it because it allows for the greatest of joys. Love the poem!

Does it ever! Well said in so few words. I love the visual you chose and the overall effect is catchy and inspiring. This so very much happened to me. I can relate well to this. Very nicely done!

Love this poem. Never thought of falling in love as being so violent until now. The imagery is great. Works really well, especially for only one line.

Hi :)
This is love on a mission if ever I saw it!
Love can be pushy and rough at times, but it's got our best interest at heart!
Great choice of words - good luck in the contest.
Best wishes, Debra :)

I met someone like that, nuge, he said the gap was only enough to slide your board through, and he made it, trembled a little at the end, but his friends hugged him , and were there there to greet him. He said yeah, fuck it, as a gentleman would, and aced it, he is 30 years old. I skated and slept for a week, my son said, fuck it, got his kid a bounce house for the day, and got a good nights sleep. So, your poem is a beautiful way to say, yeah, cussing, can be a form of expression, when a gentleman chooses words. I enjoyed your poem.
