HI Sasha,

Thank you for sharing this beautiful tribute for Brooke. Not only was she the top poet for many years, I would submit that she IS the top poet of FanStory. I cannot imagine anyone coming closing to replacing her.

I enjoyed your heart-felt words.

-Ray

What a heartfelt tribute, Sasha. I hate that I never got to read any of Brooke's poems. She sounds like such a talented lady. I should have joined FanStory years ago. Then she could have been part of my life as well. My loss for sure.
It was kind of you to write this.

If you go to my members you can then click eternal and all the poems of those members that have passed on will show up. Her screen name was Adewpearl. It will be well worth it and you can see why she was so highly regarded.

Thanks for the information. I did not know that our works lived on past our yearly dues. That's nice of FanStory. I'll be sure to read her poems.

reply by the author on 18-Mar-2019
Someone has to pay a fee to have this done. I think FS should do it automatically, especially for poets and writers like Brooke.

Did not know the lady and have never read her work...will have to change that. As we travel through life we meet people that add something to our life and when they leave we feel it in many ways... You had and still have a dear friend... a friend that lives on in your memory.

I hadn't heard, Sasha ... I'm so very sorry she's gone. She was a great poets great teacher, and everyone's friend. Who was it who got Brooke to swear? ??. Nancy

I cannot imagine Brooke ever swearing. No one ever mentioned that tome. She did have a tempor and never put up with selfish people who didn't help the poor, something she was seriously involved with

reply by N.K. Wagner on 17-Mar-2019
She got frustrated correcting the same error over and over in someone's work. She took quite a ribbing for losing it, but I understand the error never reappeared after that. Not a big deal--just a funny memory.

reply by the author on 17-Mar-2019
That person could well have been me. I kept making the same mistake over and over and yet I don't recall her cursing me...LOL

I love that your contribution to this book is also of a ramble nature. Brooke will LOVE that, dear Sasha, reading over your shoulder, as I am sure she did when you wrote it. (In Angel form). She was one of Fnastory's shiniest gems and a great example of kindness and goodness. She will surely chuckle when she sees me giving you a few comma suggestions below:

She had a way of making me laugh(,) and it became a game with us. I would find a way to make a comment to her in my posts(,) and she got a real kick out of it too.

Fortunately(,) I bookcased many of my favorites and often reread them.

Sincerely(,) your worst Student,

Yay Brooke!

RIP

Love,
rd

YOu know how terrible I am with comas, Brooke teased me mercilessly about them. Thanks for catching all of them.

Sigh, I miss Brooke so much too. It's hard to believe it was four years ago that she was stricken. I remember clearly learning of it, and being just gobsmacked. And now she lives on with us forever in our work and we must do her proud.

I always enjoy your self-effacing humour, although I'm more inclined to believe Brooke's assessment that you didn't really fail her class.

Most enjoyable addition to Brooke's tribute. :)

I return to find such news. So glad you wrote this, so nice to read the stories of how she touched others. Each has their own tale to tell. She told authors to listen to my rhythm in the poetry...she is the one who inspired me to keep audio amongst a couple of others. She told me she put my audio through her speakers and turned it up...what more could a new author hope for.
My best wishes.
I will post an unplanned work for her on Sunday.
My best wishes.
RG
