Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level
Perfectly set within its rhymed flowing versification structural Shakespearean sonnet format and beautifully narrated with the same gentle touch of our dear lost Adewpearl's personal sweetness and delicate storylined content enclosed in every single out coming spreading poetical seed of the poetess just blowing her dandelions and what amazing couplet has been your homage. It's 5.00. a.m. and my eyes are full of tears... Thank you!

Thank you so very much for the wonderful 6 stars, Alchera, and your heartfelt review. I will always miss Brooke, she taught me so much. I attended her classes on here, and she was such a kind and patient teacher. Her poetry was just beautiful, and in the last years of her time here, she wrote all those lovely poems for her grandson, Sawyer. Thank you, Alchera, it was nice talking about her again. Super big hugs, Sandra x

I have known Brooke through her criticism to my poems which were perfectly review and sometimes with suggestions that I have always accepted. I have loved her sweetness and kindness but about all her politeness and way of helping me. She will always be in our heart as you just said, Sandra. I hope that this will be the starting point of a sincere friendship. Blessing from Italy. Tony

It most definitely will be the start of our friendship, Tony. You have given me my first smile of the day. (I've been up 10 minutes!!) :)) xx

I apologize for my delay but looking after my six lively noisy grandchildren from and creativity took all my time out during these busy short days of February. I hope you are happily enjoying your freetime with your beloved ones ,too. Maybe not so noisy as mine. I spent some time t in your beautiful quite seaport town during my touring as a group leader with my pupils before retiring in 2015 after forty-two years and eight months. Now I am trying to get through my first poor prose writing while I think I am on my first step of poetry which I like best. As a reviewer I do love to give a deep analysis of poetical texts if I really like them otherwise I skip them. I rarely examine prose because I don't feel ready yet. Blessings from Italy.Tony

I always hoped that Brooke would be able to return to FanStory. Thank you for your touching tribute in this rhymed sonnet. I admired your use of personification and the "star" metaphor, plus your reference to her favorite dandelions. May she rest with the angels- Joan

Lovely. I knew nothing about this book, only heard about it as just coming back from 3 months absence. I have been asked to add my voice here in which I will ask Tom to transfer my poem within.
So nice to read the various for a lovely lady.
My best wishes.

Hello Sandra, what a lovely dedication for Brooke. Beautifully worded and, as I would expect, perfect meter. You mention the dandelions - she did love them. We lost a valuable member of FS when she left. Rest her soul. Love Dorothy x ps - I've sent for the book - one copy till I see it's OK. They tell me they've removed the lines in the contents pages - we shall see. xD

Oh, I'm so excited (and nervous) for you, Dorothy, You must phone me straight away when you get it and tell me what you think. This baby has been a long time in the labour stage, and the pains have been continuous! Now we want the joy of delivery once it's in your hands.

Thank you so much for the 6 stars, my friend. and the lovely review. Brooke was a lady who brought joy to a lot of authors, and not only with her poems, her reviews and her helpful classes as well. She taught me to 'show not tell' which made a huge difference to my work. I'm still learning but she pushed me a lot further than I would have climbed without her. Big hugs, my friend. :) Sandra xx

A wonderful tribute to our dear Brooke that points to the greetings in heaven as the cosmos rearranges to the new reality. Done as a lovely aabb rhymed Sonnet that flows with love and appreciation upon iambic heptameter. Very touching.

This poem is so true. She will be missed and dandelions will remind us of her. We'll also miss seeing pictures of and reading about Sawyer. I bet the kids up in Heaven are singing her counting rhymes.

Keep writing

Joan

I thought it was lovely that she liked dandelions, they are such a sunny flower and then they turn into 'old father time' and I used to blow the seeds to see how many times it took to empty the heads and that would tell me the time. Never worked, lol. But that was what we did as children. Brooke's poems reminded me of those days. Thank you for the nice comments on my tribute poem, Joan. :) Sandra xx :

nice presentation, Sandra.
-Your note is appreciated.
-A beautiful and heartfelt poem
to go with the image.
-Brooke would be so pleased
with many of them, like the stars,
dandelions swaying, and the angels
welcoming her to heaven.
-A very nice conclusion, too.
-Thanks for sharing, my friend.

You are very welcome, Sandra. You are right about Brooke's talent. I was amazed when I went through her portfolio. I think we all miss her, but I told Robyn I think she is enjoying all the poems and reviews, and is sharing a few smiles for us!

Hello Sandra,
You've written a beautiful poem/tribute for Brooke.

"I see the dandelions sway in fields like ocean waves...
How can we look upon them all and not remember you?"

She was such a lovely person, wonderful poet, and friend
and teacher to all.

Beautiful
Robert

Yes, she was. The sweet thing about Brooke was she was so modest, and loved it when she could help others. I took one of her classes, 'show not tell' which was priceless, it showed me how much fun you can have standing inside your writing and visualizing the scene. She was an amazing lady, I'm glad I was able to speak to her when she went into the nursing home. Thank you, Robert, for your kind review of my poem for Brooke. Let's hope this is the last 'tribute' poem we write for at least a few years. Big hugs, my friend. Sandra xx

A very well-written tribute to a wonderful poet and friend whose time end on earth but she will prepare a place for all her friends to welcome them one day when they arrive on their time.

Thank you, Sandra. It's still not really sunk in that Brooke has gone from us forever. I had always held onto the hope that she might come back to us. So sad. I can imagine her standing there to welcome us when we join her. What a lovely thought. :)) xx Sandra xx

Your poem for Brooke is wonderfully written, Sandra. She seems to have been such an admirable poet and friend to those who knew her here on Fanstory. This poem is a fine tribute to her. Marilyn

Thank you so much, Marilyn. She was unique and everyone who knew her, loved her. It's just so sad that she ended her life unable to write her poetry. That's two we've lost this year. So sad.:) Sandra xx

Had you been communicating with her, Sandra?

reply by the author on 18-Mar-2019
I spoke to her when she was in the nursing home before Miranda drove her across America to live in a nursing home near her and Sawyer. That was the best thing that happened to her after her illness hit her so hard, She was a real lady.

reply by BeasPeas on 18-Mar-2019
    Aw! I'm so sorry.
