Thank you for your thoughtful tribute to Brooke and associating her with the angels. I relished the thought of her continuing to "coach and inspire for all of her heavenly days". Well done- Joan

Hello Lou: This is a wonderful tribute for our friend, who as you said, is probably teaching a writing class right now.

And you're right Lou, Brooke never trashed anyone's work, she only tried to help them make it better.

Have a great day my friend...Bill

Beautiful Louise. I have been away, so didn't know about this book. I have been asked to allow my poem a part, which I will do today.
Nice to read from you on return.
My very best wishes.

How sweet! I'm glad you got to know her. She was no longer on the site by the time I started. I like your poem's heavenly perspective and the continuation of Brooke's influence there.

It was very sweet of you to read this, Lyn, considering you didn't know her. She was loved by all. Can I call you Lyn or would you prefer Ellen? 'L' isn't enough. You never sign your posts, so I don't know what your preference is. I always stumble over Lyenochka because of the spelling. I always sign Lou - short and easy.

Oh, I respond to so many names. Lol. Helen is fine. Sorry, I should sign my posts. Thanks for caring, Lou! ♥

This is a really sweet tribute to Brooke, Lou! You captured her kind ways in this poem. She always did "sing praise" and never had a negative word to say.

Her poems always left us smiling. Very, very nice!

Hugs,
Connie

Hi Lou. What a wonderful tribute. I have to admire the way you use this roundabout way to remember the virtues of who must have been a much loved teacher.
Now, correct me if I'm wrong (as I have been before) but the penultimate line jarred a little the way I read it. In line with the rest of the poem (9-8-9-8) it appears to be one syllable short, "That lady will coach and inspire them" maybe?
I think this way of finding something so positive, cheerful even, is reflective of the way you write. This poem could have been filled with misery but, instead, you have filled it with inspiration. As I already said, a wonderful tribute.
Hugs, Peter

It's nice of you to send me your comments, Peter, considering you didn't know Brooke. I never took one of her classes, but she taught me about slant rhymes just through our communications. Years ago some people criticized my usage of them and she informed me how some famous poets went out of their way to use them just to cut the boredom.

I think you and I are at odds about pronunciation. Inspire is pronounced: in-spahyuh r. I really didn't post this for any acclamations, I just wanted to make a contribution for Brooke's family. We all loved her so. Hugs, Lou

reply by PeterRHW on 19-Mar-2019
Haha! I knew you'd have an explanation - I retract my criticism. As for slant rhymes I think you already know that I use them and I've read many by the great poets, added to which I don't have much time for pernickety purists - if they had their way Shakespeare would be one of the first to be out on his ear.
Anyway Lou, none of this changes my views on this beautiful tribute poem. Hugs, Peter

Just imagine being in Heaven in a class being taught by Brooke and know that she is still encouraging others in her eternal home.

How beautiful!
I love the light tone of your poem. I'm sure Brooke will like it too.
I can see the angel school in heaven and Brooke teaching them and never getting upset.
Thanks for sharing.

Oh Lou, you've made me cry. This is the sweetest tribute, and so very true -- as far as I am concerned, Brooke Baldwin set the example we should all follow. You nailed it. God bless you!

Oh, dear, I thought I responded to you already. Now I'm thinking I must have sent the wrong response to someone else. I'm really grieving for Brooke and my poem came out light hearted. I didn't expect your reaction because it's impossible for me to write serious poetry. So I'm glad it touched you.

reply by Ideasaregems-Dawn on 18-Mar-2019
Nope. What it was, was sincere (and loving) if you ask me. And I think Brooke would feel the same way I do.

Sweet tribute and a fine addition to this book. I love how your rhymed quatrains echo her own writing style used more often.

Heaven is capped when used as a proper noun (a place). Otherwise, no nits.

I'm sure she waved her angel wings at you while peeking over your shoulder as you wrote this.

Love,
rd
