Wow, Gareth, a sudden poem from you and a free style poem, which I think you're quite attracted to. Well, it doesn't matter because I like to read it, and I liked it a lot. All best,Ulla :))

A rare poem from you...and a real gem! I liked the short, flashes of images in the lines, the fragmented glimpses of faces, snow, smiles, red cheeks, hurrying by in the cold. Its very much in the minimalist style, but also in a structured framework of meter and stanzas. I loved the echoing effect of the repetitions. Good musical effect, and the images were bright and uplifting. estory

This is extremely cute, Gareth. I like both its simplicity and its simetry. The short lines are a plus for me.
I wish I had a six for you.
Thanks so much for sharing.

Hi :)
I love the feel-good simplicity of this. It really made me smile.
The repeated lines are so effective and I love the concluding stanza - it brought your poem together perfectly.
That's about it! I just really enjoyed it :)
Best wishes, Debra

Gareth,

This is another unusual post from you today! Poetry! We don't see much poetry from your talented pen - though perhaps we should? This was a very imagistic poem, delighting the senses with all the 'flavors' of weather and the fun that can be had - with the right attitude. *smile*

Thanks!

I actually joined the site as a poet. I hadn't written a story at all until I joined in late 2014. It's bizarre. I still write poetry but mainly for family. G

Isn't that fun! Now that you mention it, I think I remember you saying that before.

I had taken a hiatus from FS from 2013 to 2015, so I missed that part of your journey... rats. *smile* (Had to add that -- I KNOW how you love my smiles.)

And I'm quite excited I got the other one correct, too. I'm assuming there is no prize, then...? hehe

A very well-written poem about the little things in life that we can enjoy without costing us any money, most of these pleasures come from the sky above and is free to enjoy all the time through the year.

You've described the seasons quite colorfully in your post. Your great word choice let the reader visualize each season in our minds. Nice job as always.

Fun one, G-man! And you covered three seasons with these brief stanzas of two and three syllable lines! Great job.
How about: lightning? (shocked faces?) or Leaf fall?

Hi G. This is such a nice piece. Light and happy. Descriptive with great word choices. It doesn't take much to make an enjoyable experience and a happy mood if we're open to it. Marilyn

I like the weather. I have the sea in front of my house and the countryside behind me. We get all the weather types! lol G

I'm impressed with your views--the sea in front and the countryside behind. You are fortunate to have that. Lucky you.
