I get the title now that I read your notes. This seemed less like a superhero piece and more like superhero who is on the verge of self-pity.

It shows his insecurities as a superhero, I believe, but lacks a connection to the reader that pulls them in.

I like the pun though. Good luck

Thanks - yeah probably too much pun, too little story (which explains the absence of votes). Thanks for the review

I really like this. He must have had to much pizza or something that didn't agree with him causing him to have a dream like this. This is really funny and it made me smile. Great job with this well written flash fiction. Well done!

I was never a comic book reader either, but I knew of this one's name and figured I'd put him in a flash fiction piece just for the pun of it.

I like your flash fiction entry about a superhero and his nemesis. I never knew the name of his archenemy. Good job coming up with the story that adds some interest to those boring parades with floats.

I had to google search to discover his enemy's name - not much of a comic fan, but I had to work his name into a flash fiction piece just for the pun of it.

Thank goodness you woke up and were spared the shameful repercussions of your flash in the pan celebrity. I enjoyed your well described chaos. I think you might have been reading too many comics before you went to bed.

Thanks - I'm not really a comics fan, but I knew of this character's name and thought it would make for a different kind of entry in a flash fiction contest.

I have never read a comic, I know they exist and I have seen these superheroes, I expect boys love then mainly. I'm glad that your comic book chaotic experience was just a dream, love Dolly x

Well at least you get a "C" for comical. :) Flash is alright, but I like Marvel's comic characters better. They are fast and bad. Though Wonder Women ain't one you forget easy. This is a good flash fiction entry for the contest.

-Great artwork.
-Notes are appreciated.
-I like the opening paragraph
with all of the people and
events cited for Macy's parade.
-It wouldn't do for the cast
of "Hamilton" to be doomed;
I haven't seen it yet!
-You describe the chaos
that results well, and the
conclusion is a good one,
with the superhero not
being fast enough, but
"it was only a dream."
-Now, Flash lives on!
-One small thing:
earth causing [comma after earth]
-Good luck in the contest.

Thanks - as I write this, I am sitting across the street from the theater where, in about two hours, the matinee performance of Hamilton will begin - it is magnificent. I hope you get to see it.

reply by Pam (respa) on 17-Apr-2019
I envy your proximity to the theater, although I wouldn't want to live in the city. The show is coming to Philadelphia in Aug. or Sept. I don't know if tickets will be available or not. You are welcome for the review, too.

Cute - but one wonders what would happen if those big, giant balloons did get away from the holders. I cannot imagine - for that matter hot air balloons run the same risk, don't they?
Good short story.

Balloons run amok would make for a great horror story. Thanks for the review (and the idea).

From Macy's day parade - can you imagine looking out your plane's window...

Dreams do come and go in a "flash". So glad it was only a dream. . .I love New York City and would hate for all that to happen at the parade. Nicely done for "flash" fiction. Good luck. I like how playful you were with this contest.
