What a shocking development. I am surprised it wasn't terrorism. Your 6 word poem makes a intriguing point about Jesus being homeless, after his home is burned down. Well done.

Thank you so much for this review. I don't think they have worked out yet who was responsible but it is not thought to be either Quasimodo or Esmerelda. Lol.

Hi Jim. I understood the irony of your six word poetry entry. Grenfell is a human tragedy, and a political disaster and disgrace. But Notre Dame is a historical monument in Paris, France in the EU. Grenfell is in London, UK. Good luck in the contest. All best. Ulla:)))

Many thanks for reviewing this short piece. There is too much heel dragging where Grenfell is concerned. It will all boil done to money in the end. It always does.

But the kingdom of Jesus I everywhere and all around us. I honestly believe this another test for humankind. Things are so bad already. A great poem in six words you did so well wth just six words. The cross did not burn in fire. Speaks volumes. Wll done and kind regards Meia xx

Many thanks for your review of this short piece. Perhaps the Grenfell Tower should have had a cross naile on to it instead of all that flammable cladding.

Hi Jim!
I am so happy that you pursued this as your six word poetry contest entry. You've done an excellent job and even managed an apt comparison tying together these two tragic events. The consonance of c and j with alliterative overtones is the icing on the cake.
I think you have the winner here! Good luck in the contest! :)

Thank you so much for this review. As you have seen I worked on the original 'gut reaction version', determined to get at least one poetic device into those six words. So many of these short forms come over as interesting statements but not very poetic.

Jim, you have done an excellent job in taking two different tragedies and sewing them together in just six words. Not only that, you have thrown in alliteration and a touch of spiritual reflection. So very clever and worthy of a six shower. ~DD

Many thanks for this review and the extra special stars (one for each word here. Lol). I was determined to get at least one poetic device into those six words. So many of these short forms come over as interesting statements but not very poetic.

I had to remind myself what Grenfell was, but I remember the incident very clearly in spite of not remembering the name. How horrible that was. Your poem unites the two in an interesting way. One building is a beloved historical cathedral where no lives were lost. The other is an unlovely tower where I believe many UK immigrants lived, and it was basically unsafe and a death trap. Somehow, you combine and contrast these two events, and for me anyway, produce a lot of mixed emotions. Well done!

Many thanks for this review. Fom what you have said i know i have succeeded in what I was trying to do. I was determined to get at least one poetic device into those six words. So many of these short forms come over as interesting statements but not very poetic. Sis words ans six stars that is surely proof of efficiency. You are now two chapters behind on the story, and a nother chapter due to be posted tomorrow. Have you given it up for lost? I wouldn't blame you if you did. i could be a fairy too far.

reply by ciliverde on 21-Apr-2019
I haven't given up your story, I'm just absent minded.

Hi Pantygynt, Not being from London, I wasn't familiar with the Grenfell Homeless. I looked it up and I think that a good portion of the money that was raised for the Cathedral ought to go to the Homeless!

That's a thought-provoking contrast, Jim. It takes a different kind of worldwide support for a historical monument compared to buildings for lower income people. Homeless people probably feel closer to Jesus because they can't rely on their false security in wealth.

First good luck in the poetry contest. In the few words you wrote you captured the truth and the essence of the truth. You chose a great picture to present your words and you did indeed provide a profound degree of attention to the homeless. Very well done.

Thank you so much for this review. Six words is not much room to be clever and poetic -- quite a squeeze in fact.

A very well-written six-word poem about the devestation of the Notre Dame Cathedral's demise. It seems everything gets worse in the world instead of any better.
