You have made excellent use of all your syllables in this sweet,
romantic piece about the unsurpassable power of long hugs that
show real compassion.

Thank you. I can get so critical of my spouse. What I
Wrote was to remind me of how blessed I am.

You earned my vote. I like the heart of this short poem. I see nothing wrong with this and congratulation for I think it is a winner or it should be. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for reading. It did come from heart. I can be so critical of my spouse and then I realize he lives with me and my mental illness. What I wrote here is who he truly is. ( although I am still allowed to get irritated).

A very well-written 3-5-3 poem about unconditional love that keeps giving without expecting anything in return. It is very rare to see that love in today's world.

Thank you for reading. The responses bring tears to my eyes. I suffer so much from living with a mental disorder that I can loose site of who he is. I am going to do better at letting him know how safe he makes my world.

Thank you for review. Everyone that is reviewing is telling me the same thing. I am sitting here with tears running down my eyes. He has a relationship with me and my mental illness. I will maybe frame this so I remember who he is. He makes me feel safe. It?s beyond difficult for those who love the mentally ill. Yet he does. He is a very kind man to all he knows.

You are right about the healing power of a loving hug from one who
sincerely cares about you. Anguish cannot always be prevented,
but it CAN be mitigated. Hold on to the love you have.

Superb. Please accept a Virtual Six, as this week's supply is already gone.

Thank you for reading. I know what I said about how lonely I get in one of our conversations. The reviews on this have made me weep. My husband has two relationships: one with the true me and one with the mental illness. I am very close to my one sister I wrote about and she struggles too. She loves me but hates seeing what the sickness does to me. I hate it.
My husband is a very good and kind man. He is extremely well liked in our community.
I work hard not to trap him and let him go. I want his happiness first, which often results in my loneliness.
I am glad you reviewed this. I feel a connection too. I agree about the colon.

I wrote a very unusual piece, which is why I am up at this ungodly hour. I do not know what I think of it. I have been so immersed in it that I still have not gotten back to read your pieces. Oh, but I will. The first one I read I had to process for a couple days.

Is it okay to contact you. It doesn?t feel right to do it in a reply. I got a story for you.

You are most welcome, Karen. I see the correction and have removed my comment about it to leave you a clean review.

No one ever shares enough hugs in a lifetime. From what you just said, I'm certain your husband loves you dearly. He just needs a little time for himself sometimes, as the caretaker aspect of his life requires a lot of energy and patience. Most men would not handle that as well as he does. Keeping him is worth the occasional loneliness when he takes a well-earned break, as he'll come back refreshed. The fact that he does come back is all the proof you need of his true feelings of love for you. Cherish his hugs, as you are blessed compared to others who have no one like him to turn to.

I see your newer post and will review it.

Review replies are public, so PMs are better for conversations. -- Mike

Thank you. I am blessed to have him in my life. We are always working to have a quality relationship. He is a caretaker and husband. We started about 6 months ago having some one come in and help me. It is putting him back into a husband role. Seriously though best hugs ever.

Umm..I love the words you wrote they are very classy, and I can feel your love. You may want to recount your syllables for the contest. I get 3-6-4.

A really beautiful write and the sentiment is really overwhelming. It's a real testament to love and faithfulness of the marriage vows. Very inspiring. Great job and good luck in the contest.

This could be a very good entry for the 3-5-3 contest
but the syllables are off at 3-6-4.

try something like:

The dark leaves;
when you hold me [tight].
Hold me [now].

Excellent poem on bipolar and the need for someone.
Good luck in the contest
Robert

Great job on this poem! It can be hard to write anything really meaningful when you're limited on words like this, but you did a great job here. A lot of feeling and power packed into just a few lines. Great work.
