Surprise Me This is a flash fiction contest. Write a story that has a surprise ending. Since it is flash, the word count must be between 200 and 600 words. The ending can be funny, sad, shocking, etc. But the reader has to be surprised.
I like most any poem that is a tribute, because it shows such an example of a loving bond and appreciation for that blessing. How precious is it that you love someone enough to write a poem about them! The thing I love most about this is your support of your foster-son. If he's successful, it must be because of your endless devotion and tremendous support!
The accolades are wonderful to read and I suspect to receive. The poem is a tribute to someone who passed many a test with flying colours. Your use of words is always so appropriate and lyrical. I enjoyed reading this poem.
Jaybird - this is a beautiful tribute to your foster son. You are obviously so proud of him. I'd love to know if you've shown him this poem. This line really caught my eye - A special blend of fate and guts. Great work!
Great tribute to your foster son! Nice analogy of baseball and life. It had a really nice flow to it, very enjoyable to read. Someone who in society eyes counted out, has risen through life to become a winner!
