Hi Yvon, I really liked your questions in this poem, it is a great premise and makes one think.

Is the bird free from the chains of the skyway? No, I don't think it is, and I don't think we are truly free, either. Our physical bodies certainly chain us to its needs, for starters.

I do have a couple of suggestions for improvement.

I would add the question marks after the questions, and I would also change introspecting, to introspection and ditch the question mark in that part of the title. Other than that, I really liked this and the picture you've chosen suits the poem very nicely. I have no other niggles, and best of luck with this work. Have a great day, cheers, Eve.

(If you are chasing FS stars, just get back to me if you edit and I will change the rating.)

Thanks for the suggestions. No question marks are poets choice. I felt there would be too many so left the line open as people reading would know it was an open question. Introspecting? is the question being asked or is it just mental babbling. These are the reason for my personal choices for this poem. Stars don't matter. My perception does. Thanks for your comments but I guess it stays the same. I hope I clarified your questions.

Interesting question, "Am I ever going to own myself." I believe that is something a lot of people ask themselves especially those who feel they are owed by their spouses.

This was more about owning your thoughts. But yes outside people do tend to want to control us.
