Hi Yvon. Your poem is one that describes the negative part of what the flag means. We are more energy independent (oil) than we've ever been these days, using our own resources. Hopefully we all understand the sacrifices made to keep us free. Your piece is well written. Marilyn

There is truth in your poem it is from the heart because you feel the pain and suffering of others - and yet again even more wars. I too have written many poems on the subject one that comes to mind "Wounded Skies" Young mens lives lost before they have even begun

I was the one who chose this image and I have to tell you that those are some of the thoughts that I was considering when I picked it. (Well, I sent Marilyn -beaspeas - several images and SHE chose this one.) But, anyway, my thoughts went along the same line as yours seem to. That so many tears go along with the things that make us free.
