I've always felt a marked sadness when I thought about Anne Frank. An innocent life taken away so young. I am happy her legacy still carries on through writers such as yourself. Excellent work.

One question: I'm terribly angry because it isn't necessary yet, and it's no ((so?)) nice outside."

That was the way Anne Frank wrote the quote in a letter to her grandmother when she was ten years old. Therefore, although it is incorrect, I did not change it. That's why the word is "no" instead of "so". Appreciate the review.

Nothing too groundbreaking here, but not a bad write.

There were a few errors:

--After " . . . canals and," in the first paragraph, there should be a comma

--In the six paragraph, "struggled" should be "struggling."

--In the six paragraph, "no nice," should be "so nice."

--In the second to last paragraph, there should be no comma after "excursion," but a comma after the "and" that follows it.

Have a nice day. Time to rush off to work. Keep your chin up.

Nice job, Brett. Your articles are always so informative for me. I had no idea that there was a new book containing previously unpublished letters of Anne's. I've read The Diary of Anne Frank three times. It's nice to know that she left a little more behind.

This sounds a fascinating book. Her diary in itself is absorbing and this new publication sounds equally so.

I did pick up one small point:

These striking letters to her grandmother demonstrate an effervescent youngster struggled to hold on to her childhood - should this be '... youngster struggling to hold on ....' ?

Thanks for sharing.

I found this interesting and informational.
I would like to read this book. My opinion is
That You kind of ruined your surprise by putting the previously unpublised works of Anne Frank in the note above the title. Otherwise ver nice job.

These writings and postcards are a marvelous find. No doubt about it, Anne Frank was a gifted writer and it's so painful to think what she could have accomplished in life. Her diary is just a hint of it. It would be great to see this recent discovery and I will look for it. It is such a shame that people aren't writing any more. The text messages and the like that young people do today hardly qualify as writing. judi

Hi Brett, yeah, those postcards are an addition to Anne Frank's otherwise known writing of her experience with the war. It was a tragic time for almost all Jews throughout Europe. They were killed on assembly. My parents took me to Bergen Belsen and Aushwitz when I was 8 years old. It must never be forgotten. Just thinking of it brings tears to my eyes.
Thanks for sharing this. All the best. Ulla:))

I think I have read everything I could about her and by her while I was in school and this is a welcome piece to read. Very well done and again a plus for a special person
