Hahaha. Now THIS was some thoughtful re-constructing of verse! I wonder: was everyone in this saga wearing a tri-corner hat? (In my mind, they were, it added to the hilarity of it all...) My favorite rhyme was Boston/lost in. It's like a modern day version of Alice in Wonderland. Love the Author's Notes. xo

Thanks. As soon as I saw the story about President Trump stumbling over his Fourth of July proclamation, I knew the parodies would be dropping fast and furious, so I wanted to get a Paul Revere parody out there before someone else did,

Great job, Mark. I loved the humor and the rollicking back and forth between history and modern day. Good rhyming choices and presentation.

lol I just had a couple of years where I've been lucky enough to do a bit of travelling and I totally can relate to, upsets, that aren't on the itinerary. But nevertheless, I enjoyed the time frame using our air transportation, even if they did fly on Frontier. lol could have been on Swoop.

lulube very creative

Thanks. I didn't start out trying to pick on Frontier, but it rhymed with Revere, so there you have it.

This poem tells about the fall of the war and follies in action on part of America and how decision changed in flying invited the disaster; well said, well done. Liked and enjoyed the read. Write-Inspire --DR ALCREATOR

Cute, interesting fun poetry. Ogden Nash would love you. A couple of comments though: First and second stanzas have great rhythm. A great job of mimicking "The Midnight ride of Paul Revere." But I think maybe the third stanza, lines three and four with the words "insurrection" and "connection" the great rhythm of the first two stanzas is a little compromised. Also rhythm might be improved with "in between" further on in the third stanza becoming just "between". I'm from Boston so I loved the poem and I think it is excellent, notwithstanding my comments above.

Thanks and you're absolutely right - I started out trying to be faithful to the structure of the original, and then just struck out on my own about the third stanza. Thanks for the thorough read - btw, Boston is one of my favorite cities.

Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level
Well finally someone has found the terminal method for what REALLY happened during the Revolutionary War in 1775. The dang airline lost their luggage so the Brits couldn't snag a win.

Well we heard it on FanStory first, or was it somewhere else?

This is brilliant satire Mark and many thanks for the laugh. Your creative brain is in fine form tonight. :))

Thanks, Gloria. Satirists were out in full force yesterday - I wanted to get this poem out there before someone else wrote it.
