"The stonemason and apprentice", is an extremely well-written and deftly descriptive piece. This talented poet's work was a pleasure to both read and review. I look forward to seeing your next post.

A fine poem and it seems you are learning a lot from your class. It looks scary being so high up there to do your job. You look smartly dressed too! How fantastic to be on the top of Westminster Abbey! My Father was a draughtsman, he designed machines for factories, love Dolly x

This is a fascinating read because it not only teaches readers something about stone masonry, but it reveals an actual part of your own history. The photo is phenomenal. I'm sure glad you didn't slip while you were way up there--and I'm positive your family is, too! lol

A very well-written Rondeau about the stonemason's craft and the apprentice that does wonderful work that is not anyone that are able to do this kind of craft.

Wow what amazing notes and the piece to go with the picture is perfect. I have never done these types before but the piece and the form seem to go together and are very well done

-That is an amazing
photo, Colin. I can't
even imagine being up there!
-Thanks for sharing the notes, too.
-I have never written any of
the French forms, but I have
reviewed quite a few.
-Yours is very good.
-It paints a vivid word picture
of work you had done, flows well,
and has good repeating line and phrase,
as well as imagery.
-I like how you describe
what to do in steps.
-A good concluding verse, too.
-Thanks for sharing.

Thank you so much for this lovely review and I would have got in trouble if I had been seen, the sculptor loved to take photos and took this and I got it in the post many years later out of the blue . Kind regards Colin X

This is very good for a first try and this form as intricate as the stonework in the artwork. The words seem to be of a patient teacher who loves his work and wants his apprentice to learn well.
Keep writing and learning
Joan

Wow. The author's notes were amazing. I'm glad you weren't injured or worse. No safety gear! Wow.
A great poem.

Notes:

Pass me the mould, and I will show you how,

This is British spelling of the word "mould" ... I would spell it mold, living here in the USA. :-)

All the very best,

Jan

Excellent Rondeau, Colin. The use of near rhymes was well chosen as pointed out by Jim. I am amazed by the story behind the photo. It really adds to this piece. Well done.
