Romance Poetry and love have been synonymous since poetry was first invented. Your acrostic poem should relate to this subject. An acrostic is a poem which spells out a word or idea. Sometimes what it spells out is the the title of the poem itself. Usually the first letter of each line spells out this key word.
As expected, the meter and rhyme are there as usual. I can identify with much of the poem because I myself grew up in Appalachia. I will present you with the normal five stars because I like the poem and in this case I particularly like the content. Robert
Your closing line made me chuckle. To run this human race is daunting indeed. Hurdles are always popping up to impede and make us struggle. This flows well and expresses well want you want the reader to take away.
Oh I do like this poem - and I agree. We must run the race. in the Bible there are many verses telling us to "gird" our loins and keep on fighting. God controls the times and our positions - thanks for a poem that made me think - and was encouraging.
