A poignant write and whether the human race will survive or not, we will never know as we will have had our life, let us hope that we save ourselves from our own fate, food for thought here in these chilling words, love Dolly x

it is always a pleasure to read your poetry, and this one does not disappoint. you have captured the essence of the fear mongering that was done as the century turn approached-your poem was wise and humorously sarcastic--thanks for the chuckle!

all the Best!

Phil

I'm still confused as to why there was such a huge deal made out of it turning the year 2000. You're right so much worry and not a thing happened. Fun poem pointing out all the doomsday worry. =} Rox

Yes the power of words and the fear of believing them, there was a whole lot of talk about this, especially the storage of food as shopping centers could not keep their shelves stocked as I remember, fate will surely get us, but I'm sure it will be all at once, a great read****kahpot

Thank you for sharing your reflections about the coming of Y2K . I relished your characterizing the horrors as "like any other year" and your reassurance with "steady now". I admired your rhymed quatrains and wish us all well- Joan

Well written and fun to read. I remember the panic and fear before Y 2 K. Many made their fortunes, by offering to set one's computer to respond properly, to the new millennium. People emptied the store's shelves of bottled water and canned goods in preparation for pandemonium. Your piece flows well and the rhymes are great. Your commentary on our past fears, says it all in so many ways. I like your comments on your author's notes which says, so wisely, "Well, we are still here, but for how long, I don't know." With the threat of War and Climate Change, disaster seems just around the corner. Maybe, hopefully, we will live beyond these, too. Thanks for the reminder.
Take care, Jesse

It sure was a strange time - they worried that computers would lose their brains - that calamity would strike, etc. What we do know is that God does has an end to this world. Jesus is coming - and probably soon, if the world's chaos is any measurement. We must be ready for that.
Good poem - and you were a prophet of their paranoia.

Yes, I remember that.
Nothing at all happened here.
Thank goodness of course.
It had something to do with
the Mayan calendar.
Great poem,
Blessings...

In my opinion, a superb write, reminding us of the time the entire world waited with bated breath to discover what the millenium would bring, either armaggedon, or the destruction of the world by man - written in fluid rhyming rhythm...
