Hurray for you! It's so good seeing something positive about Trump. He has done far more good than he gets credit for. No one remembers, or chooses not to, that Obama went around the world apologizing(!) for America. Trump is proud of the USA and loves it!!!!

I had to release a cheer when I read this, Robert. No matter what party someone is in, respect is due any person legally holding the office of the President of the United States. There is no moral reason to act like bullies, spoiled losers, and hardhearted citizens of the Planet Earth. A lot of people have lost sight of what the terms 'freedom', 'patriotism', and 'personal honor' mean.

I think you're so right in your comments. I'm not saying this as a big Trump supporter, but the Democrats are handing him the election, as you write. I think opening up the borders will work against them, and it's for sure they have the media on their side. I'll hope, with you, that their efforts to create a socialist country will be a failure. Excellent rhyme. In your first stanza you might want to capitalize Morning Joe as that's a TV show. In the next to the last line, use a comma before cause, as you're omitting the letters in because. ('cause).

I agree with your statement that opening borders will play against his opposition and the absolute headlong rush to convert America to a socialist nation can't possibly work. So you are right. Hey Robert this is an excellent entry into the "ruffel the readers feathers" contest. You've written in a good solid ballad form and the only term I question is giant egg because that has positive implications so maybe consider something different to fit with your overall tone.

Just for the record Obama was known as the "Deporter in Chief" because his administration deported more undocumented immigrants than the Trump administration.

That said, having been a fan of Trump for almost 40 years I can tell you he absolutely loves and thrives in all the controversy he is creating. Playing the victim is a role he relishes.

Best of luck to you in the voting booth. This is a fine poem that should do well.

Hi Gloria. Probably should have taken a hard look at this contest and decided ruffling other people's feathers was not a great idea. After all these years one might think I would know better, but I don't. I will take a look at the "egg" term. In my backwoods vernacular when somebody lays an egg, they really mess up. Everybody in Washington has too much ego and I'm convinced that everybody inside the Beltway could care less about what happens to people outside the Beltway except for their "groups." You're certainly right about his thriving on controversy. I believe he is one guy that is convinced that there's no such thing as bad publicity. He's had a lot of it but is just like the Energizer Bunny, he just keeps on going. Thank you for your positive review and the five stars. I truly appreciate it. Robert

This is very well-written; and--since it is about politics--it's automatically
controversial. There is much about Trump that I admire, but every time he
is instrumental in something really good, he opens his mouth . . . . Since
he has no filter, whatever he thinks comes pouring out. Also, I get tired of hearing him take full credit for things he was only PART of.

Hello Janice. You certainly have Donald Trump figured out. Your comment about him having no filter is perfect. If he would pull the horses back just a little bit once in a while he would probably make more progress with the people that don't like him. Except maybe in this day and age nobody can make progress. To me, it's near treasonous what the haters are doing to our President. How he can smile and keep going is beyond me except I know how many people are praying daily for him - for safety, protection, health and most of all for continued wisdom. Socialism - bah
