So awesome!! You are the best Dean and glad you are back! I've been away from FS myself and will try to be more active as life events can keep us sometimes from always being here. Always enjoy your writings and love the story line, complete with rhymes. Wonderfully gruesome pictures!

Great story in this poem about Mortimer Mercyhide and his bride and the fate that awaited them all. Well told using good alliteration in these descriptive verses. loved it,
cheers,

This is quite a tale you've shared here my friend. Even though the man was a homely chap, he was able to snag for a year a beautiful bride. I wouldn't have killed myself. I would have let her go. I imagine if you were going to do someone in, then, I'd think that it would just be him. If he would have known, Mortimer could have had his child whether he had his wife or not. I like this ghastly tale that you've shared with us. You are back indeed my friend. Well done!

Hey, hey, hey, the irony of revenge and the cruelty of fate. Vanity, pride, lust, want and hearts devoid of love.

A true recipe for disaster.

This one carries beyond the grave when innocence is slighted.

Love it.

Hi Dean! This is a little extra creepy... I'll be sure to stay away from that particular house on the hill! I'm not too keen to be finding Mortimer looking at me! (I certainly won't be bringing anything to drink!)

Back you are Dean : )) Alliteration, meter and rhyme cannot be faulted. The visuals conjured up in the minds eye were great and the visual presentation of the poem was top notch... which is what I've come to expect from you mate.

I was reading your poem and kept hearing the soft squeaking coming from my computer or keyboard and it took me a while to discover that it was part of your poems background. Spooky, I'm glad your back... I was gone for about eight months with a nasty case of not giving a s--t writers block.

OMG! Wow, what a story that was, Dean. I'm so glad you're back, I haven't been myself either. Thought I'd pop on quick, and sure glad I did, perfect timing to read this awesome post. His, name even sounds creepy, "Mortimer Oswald Mercyhide" perfect name for a mortician/grave digger and murderer. lol. It fits him. Love the eerie feeling this gives the reader. Outstanding presentation in entirety. Hope you're feeling better. Hugs! xo

Your poem reminds me of Halloween poetry...boo....boo! I really like it even though it is morbid. The rhyming and your flowage of words are spectacular. Great job.
