My faith sustains me and I cannot imagine doubting the word of God...
still, I know may who are certain all you have shared is some "fairy tale fictional wish fulfillment need for insecure mortals." (I actually read that in an article just today--bravely posted on a blog by "anonymous."-- I thank you for sharing your belief because somehow in this upside down society many would think of it as "microaggression" to upset those who do not believe in the ONLY one who will always believe in them!--Karenina

We can remember the One we trust and follow was mocked and scorned, so we go by the Bible and not what people think about our us or our faith. God bless you as you stand strong in the faith of Jesus Christ. Dennis

Hi Deniz22,
Good piece here on the Rapture. It will be a chaotic mess on that day because people will be vanishing all over the place. Governments without leaders, jets without pilots, boats without captains. Imagine freeways and cars & truck, even transport trucks, smashing into each other right across the country. Freight trains. Buses. Those who are "left behind" and survive will want answers. What explanation will the leaders and great minds of the time come up with? I can hear it now... "Earth has been invaded by aliens from Outer Space! Film at nine."
It's interesting that you write Christians won't go through the Tribulation, those terrible seven years leading up to Armageddon. I always think of this verse,
"But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and knew not until the flood came, and took them all away, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be." Matthew 24:37-39
The Flood is the Tribulation. Undoubtedly, Noah and his family were saved, but they still went through the flood, tucked away inside the ark. At the end of the flood, he stepped out onto dry ground. And that was the Rapture. He was delivered. I don't think there is an easy way out. There has never been an easy way out. There has always been, however, overcomers, people with great faith in God who must walk through rough waters, who must swim for their lives, whose feet slip on old mossy rocks but Christ catches them.
Did you ever see the original movie, "The Poseidon Adventure"? Eight people scampered up the Christmas tree. The rest of the New Years party perished. The great cruise ship had overturned in a tidal wave on New Years Eve in the Mediterranean Sea. Christmas tree I saw as Christ. Without Him, there is no chance of making it to Heaven. The small party became nine with the addition of a steward who happened to be in the galley. But he perished along the way through the bowels of the ship UP to the one place where the hull was just 1" think, the propeller shaft. On the way, 3 more of the small group died. But they had hope the whole way. Sure, they were tested along the way. At one point, they saw a second group of people doing the same thing they were, heading for where they figured rescue would come... to the bow of the ship. But the steel is so thick there. Rescuers wouldn't be able to cut through all that steel. For me, they were people who believed in God, but not Christ. They were going the wrong way!
Anyway, the point I'm trying to make is that rescue wasn't easy. But they kept going. And the whole while, the sea was at their heels. But in the end, five were saved. Four died along the way. What faith they had to have when they finally reached the propeller shaft! One inch of steel... but would anyone be there standing on the upside-down ship, ready and able to cut through the hull??? That's the kind of faith we need today. But people are falling away from church. People don't care.
Anyway, I'm sorry, Denny. I'm off on a tangent.
Bottom line, of course I believe in the Rapture. I just don't know if we will go through some or all of the Tribulation.

blessings,
Kimbob

Thanks for reading and commenting, Kimbob. I did see "The Poseidon Adventure" many years ago.
While many of the things you say here have scriptural counterparts, we do well to carefully read the scripture in context.

The Tribulation is described as a time of the wrath of God becoming visible and experienced on earth as God's prophetic clock is continuing toward the midnight hour for sinners.

By sharp contrast, the Rapture is called "the Blessed Hope" because it's God's promise the Church will not go through the Rapture because the church "is not appointed to wrath". I would like to suggest you reread the article on the Rapture and perhaps go to my portfolio to see another one on the same subject.

I hope you would find both pieces helpful. God bless you, Dennis

I am no Bible scholar but I seem to remember there are certain events that need to occur before the resurrection The Prophets teach and are stoned in Jerusalem. the temple is rebuilt and the first half of the tribulation has come to pass. Your piece is good and will get me studying,

We are all called to be Bible scholars and God has enabled us to understand His Word by His Spirit in us as believers in Christ. Nothing has to happen before the Rapture as Paul was rightfully expecting it in his day. The Rapture is not the same or limited to the Resurrection of the church saints. Remember, Paul said anyone living who is a believer in Christ, will not even die but will be changed into their eternal state. Perhaps you might like to read my piece again and look up the Biblical references? God bless you, Dennis

Interesting point of view about the Rupture and solid arguments from the Bible. Are we prepared for this? No matter how much we think we are, only time will tell. Thanks for sharing.

Waiting to "let time tell" is not the recommended way of the scripture.
    We are to believe the Word of the Living God and seek to know Him and His agenda for the church, Israel and the Gentile nations. Here's God's promise to all people: Proverbs 1:23 Turn at my rebuke; Surely I will pour out my spirit on you;
I will make my words known to you.

I like your essay on the rapture. We have been studying Revelations for the last year at church and I can relate to your story very well. It is good to be among the believers.

Good sermon. To be absent from the body is to be present with Christ. I have been out of my body twice and I know it is true. Thank you for sharing the Word.

Deniz,

I was slightly concerned when I saw you using the word 'Rapture'. That is not a Biblical phrase, as you probably know. Many people believe that the 'Rapture' will be the beginning of a thousand-year reign by our Lord on the earth. I have no idea where they get that...

Anyway, this seemed credible and in accordance with all I've read and studied - except for the word. Thank you!

Thanks Robyn. Rapture indeed is not in the Bible but neither is the word Bible or Trinity. Rapture is the Latin term for the ?catching away? of a large group of people, moving them from one place to another. The KJV translators brought that term over from the Vulgate Latin translation which preceded their own work.

The church is the Bride of Christ and He is coming for us before the Tribulation, because ?the church is not appointed to wrath? which is what will characterize the awful Tribulation.

God bless always, and thanks for reviewing! YBIC, Dennis

This is a wonderful testament to your faith, Deniz, and I really enjoyed reading all the comments of Saint Paul and those in the scriptures. I have seen many of my loved pass over now, and the belief that I will see them again lessens the pain a little. Excellent piece. :)) Sandra xx

You put together a good and accurate combination of verses. As you know the best interpreter as the Bible itself. And you did a good job with allowing the Word to speak while bringing added clarity. Stan
