I like the polka dots in the snow. It's be like hailspot pattern; white on white. The green fir branches make a good image, too. Sometimes verses without pictures are very effective

A very evokative poem that throws us straight into the middle of winter. I can see that pitted snow, and smell the damp winter forest as though it were yesterday, not over six months ago.
