R E S P E C T to you. Very well done. I often say I'm not a musician, I'm a drummer. But those old Motown hits still make this old white guy bust out my dance moves. A Haiku has to capture a singular feeling in only 17 syllables. You did a very nice job of doing that. Thanks for sharing. Go well.

Music can become a crucial part of life affecting one's mood in many ways. I like that this 5-7-5 entry presents a positive view of the past through welcomed memories. Best wishes!

Not sure I know what motown is - we watched all the episodes of the Country Music documentary - recently on OPB - it was so interesting - I'm now reading about the Carter family - some early pioneers in that music form.
And yes, it brings back memories. My kind of music - as I was raised in a small country type town.
Well done poem

I so appreciated for your kind review. Motown is a word combo of motor and town for Detroit where the sound was born. It was used on thr label of the first black recording company founded by Berry Gordy.

A very well-written 5-7-5 poem about the Motown era when music still had a melody and the words touch the heart with meaningful lyrics and great singers.

Your name reminded me of Berry Gordy. Tamla Motown is my era of hit after hit of foot tapping sweet sounds - I totally agree with your poem; each time I hear a Motown artist I am reborn, too.

Me, too. I love Motown music, especially the early years. The platters, The Four Topps. These were some of my favorites. Your poem is an excellent contest entry.

You had me at Motown. How about "I'm sticking to my guy like a stamp to a letter, like birds of a feather we stick together." Sorry just reminiscing. Your words flow nicely and the picture is great. I'm glad someone wrote it up in a poem.
