All's well that ends well!! I really enjoyed reading your book! I share the feeling of wanting our furbabies to have their own forever homes and that being part of the book's plot, you raise awareness of rescue pets. Thanks for sharing your book with all of us!
God bless!
Patty

I'm so glad it turned out good for her, that she has enough money for her nursery, that her cousin is fitting right in. It's sad about her and Jeremy though. Think they would've made a great couple. She has a very hard decision ahead, poor thing. It's well-written, very interesting, realistic, Tighed everything up nicely.

Karlene,

Nice! You made it all the way to the end. Finishing is the hardest part! YAY!

Notes:
1.) And cash in those (that) are no longer collecting interest.

2.) Now I would have (the) money to build my kitten nursery.

3.) check from Aunt Viv's agent for acceptance of (the/my) book.

4.) It was almost Christmas, and this year Leota and I would spend it with Greg and Rosi. I couldn't wait.
--> no Jeremy?

Thanks - congrats!

I like reading murder mysteries which include cats. They often have some unusual, unexpected humor. I think this chapter was intriguing enough that I could go back and read the other chapters. Accounting is definitely a bear, with the character Franci trying to determine if her aunt Viv had paid taxes on her bonds, with the line suggesting how much time necessary to sort through papers and say: Fortunately, it took me only the weekend to learn she had. Sounds like the character is definitely committed to being a writer, even if she has dreams of opening a cat/kitten nursery.

A complete and engaging read throughout. The characters seem real, the plotline is engaging, great pace in every paragraph. My favorite line:
I
loved them all, but I was a writer. I needed to get back to that since I had received the check from Aunt Viv's agent for acceptance of the book. That meant no revision.

The mindset of a bittersweet time the closure of a long period of work.

This makes a nice, gentle ending to your novel {smiles}.

Here are a few points you might like to consider:

"Yes," I said, looking him straight in the eyes. -- I'd use "looking straight into his eyes". It just reads better.

"Yeah," he snapped. "That's what I figured." He spun around and stomped out. -- I'd punctuate it as:
"Yeah," he snapped, "that's what I figured." He spun around and stomped out.
This is because, without the dialogue tag the direct speech would be:
"Yeah, that's what I figured."

-- I like this snippet. Most people "slip" into sleep {smiles}.

Wow, that is a powerful decision to choose cats over a possibly good marriage. What in her past Is leading her to that decision? Were her parents divorced? Was she divorced previously. just wondering about your main character's internal Drive.
