I think this is a good entry for the Attic, Boxes, and Trunks contest.
You describe your attic as a hsitory bank, storing all of your family's past.
Well done and good luck to you with the contest.
Sharon

It is an extremely well crafted, perfectly refined and rhymed poem that was an absolute pleasure to read friend. The visuals and stories offered up were a treat and one could imagine sifting through an attic full of treasures relating to their own family. Loved it!

Well, this is quite the poem with rhyming such a challenge. So well done with many stories. Just brings up the imagery of sitting in my attic inspecting individually various pieces and knowing where they came from originally and the story behind. I can't wait to get up there. Very inspiring along with the picture.

Generations of memories are stored in these old attics, just waiting to be discovered and cherished. Layer upon layer - lovingly lifted can reveal a wealth of information that become part of a legacy. Something, if preserved, that can give future generations clues that could explain some of the mysteries they might be trying to solve. Great entry for the contest.

Hello mystery writer. First I will say this is a superb poem in my opinion. There was recently a contest here that required a poem that "told a story."
Poems that don't tell stories are not much of the poem in my view. This is not only an exceptional poem but it is also a family history and a review of the attic as part of that history.
Your rhyme and meter is great and the poem itself is is excellent, not only in construction, but in content. It's an exceptional piece of work.

We explore the universe, but most treasure is found in our attics. While looking through my grandparents attic, I found an old chest. When I opened it, I saw stacks of confederate money.

This is a wonderful poem. Your rhyming is terrific. I thought I
was in the attic with this young lady. Excited to see the wedding dress
and maybe some quilts her grandma made. Her family's history lied
in wait to be found in that attic.
Great job!

As a history buff, this is like a page out of someone's history book. If you do not have knowledge of those who came before you and whose blood also runs in your veins, how can you truly know who you are? I sorely regret missed opportunities to learn more from my parents and grandparent when I had the chance. I have told my children and grand children stories from my past so much that they can practically retell them word for word. The thing is, they truly know me and more about themselves as well, as they recognize certain traits that they have inherited.

Great - I love a story and this is...a story of your ancestors, told well and full of information - I love the picture (wish it were less blurry - but the elements are there) and what treasures await the search in the attic. Good job.
