Wow, that sure is a wonderfully written, scary story. I love how it starts rather innocently and then we learn the horrible truth. All in all, I really enjoyed reading this story.

Congrats on the win! This story was a good example of leading the reader on an unexpected journey into horror. An experience that I'm sure Alvin didn't forget... for the fleeting last moments of his life. Bwahahahaha

Congratulations on winning the flash fiction contest. I see why you won. This is a perfectly-written response to the prompt and has a goulishly (not sure I spelled that right) funny outcome. I especially liked him pushing his glasses back on his nose, which created a good image to complement the stuttering. It gave me a picture of this unsuspecting kid. Well done.

A very scary story Giraffmang. The gothic music from the door bells, the blood that was splattered on Connors apron were all great set ups to the fact these people you made up were psychotic killers who took joy in carving the bodies of the innocent and naive. Well done.

Definitely a great Halloween flash fiction entry. There is something menacing right from the time Alvin rings the doorbell.

I might have added a comma after 'music' in the following: 'Michael cranked up the music drowning the sound of Alvin's screams - but I doubt it's important.

Good luck.

And I saw that you won! Maybe it was the comma that did it! lol Whatever - congratulations.

Good morning, Gareth

Enjoyed your twist on a pumpkin carving party. Once Connor opened the door wearing a red-stained butcher's apron I was shouting at Alvin not go inside with him for it will ruin your day. Alvin's naivete regarding his impending doom was spot on.

Take care and stay safe,

Ray

Nice one g. Very sparing on words but managing to make a strong impression. Alvin's stammer adds just the right touch of suspicion for the reader.

I love the idea of Alvin seeing all the nice sharp knives and realising that perhaps this was going to be a very bloody party.
hugs

Freda
