Hi this is a poem full f hope ,tears , heartbreak. While the heart of a mother burns ,the son in the middle of gunfire squirm, cry fighting against odd, always wondering if he would get out of it at all and come home to hg the mother who gave him life ,and see the children.what kind f world is this. If God ever mad this I say he is a heartless sadistic creature. But I am a believer and I know God is love and sacrificed his son to teach us love . We love nothing form his teaching and sacrifice and turn his bleeding heart into a hypicrisy. Saying that he died for us is only lipservice and we have nothing to show our sincerity, except our lust for blood, greed, hypocrisy.

This reads like a haunting song. It is beautiful. I must say, with war brewing, and a son who will turn 18 in a few short months, the tears of war haunt me in ways I can't imagine.

Wow! That was such a wonderful poem that was easy to understand, but beautiful to read. I only wish I could have known more about this souldier. I read your profile entrie, and saw that you thought you had trouble with punctuation, though I couldn't find any mistakes. This story definitely deserved Poem of the Month.

Wow. How incredibly powerful. I am in the military, and this hits very close to home. Thank you for creating and sharing this beautiful telling of a soldier's story.

I absolutely love this. This is one of the best prose poems I have read. In my eyes, you caught a mothers love so perfectly. My favorite line is your last. It made me cry. "A mother's heart now filled with peace
as she passed away that night."

Sorry for the late reply to your wonderful review.
I am so glad you enjoyed this poem. It kind of made sense to write it in three parts. Thank you for taking the time to read and review.
Bless you for the six stars.

I can understand why this is the poem of the month. It made me cry.
It shows the fear and sadness of war, both of the soldier and the mother.
I like how his "ghost" comforts her as much as the photos. And that he comes to welcome her when she dies and they are together again. Too many men and women die in war.
Keep writing
Happy Holidays.
Joan

    Hi dragonpoet,
sorry for delay in replying to your kind review. I did not know I was in the contest for poem of the month. I have been caring for my mum who passed away today, and had no internet contact for five days.
Bless you for your kind review, your words are very much appreciated.

I really like the combining of all! Sets a nice tone. Can only believe, if this gentlemen had been able to come home, would have experienced the nature of PTSD. Why is it that mothers have to deal with all the qualifications of this? Maybe, now, more so, women will reveal what has up till now been the work of the men. Perhaps, Dad's will feel the same tears trickle...

    Hi John,
Thank you so much for your kind review. Times have changed and young women now take on the same role as their male counterparts.
I am not sure this is a good thing, but you cannot take away from them, their bravery as are all soldiers.
    Bless you for reviewing.

Oh my, that was so beautiful, it had me crying. What an amazing poem, from the son's part to the mothers. This is so easily a winner and well-deserving of the number one in the rankings. Goodness me, Brenda, this is the first time a poem has made me cry, the ending finished me! Well done! I know you're winning, so you don't need the good luck! lol. :)) Sandra xxx
