I think this is a chapter rich in dialogue. It is the kind of dialogue that is probably giving a forewarning of certain action coming up. I think the exchange that told me the most was: "The king is dying, and there is much trouble. Dylan is not able to come to you now. People are fighting over food. They think the castle has more than it does. They're trying to fight their way in. There is talk of a wizard with the power to drop fire from the sky. The enemy thinks it's you, and they want you dead. Dylan knows the truth, but he can't tell anyone yet." I like the name Dragoyles.
I would have given this a six, because I could not find a single thing to improve on, but it's late in the week, and I don't have any sixes left, so you get a 5 star rating.

Thanks. I'll take a virtual six, and I hope you'll stick around to enjoy the rest of the story.

I'm enjoying this. It's really no surprise I guess that at least one of them would have to be released. I like the engaging and suspenseful storyline that keeps me dialed in. I fear that some unfortunate changes are about to happen. Thanks for sharing this well written saga. Well done and keep them coming!

Thanks. Purple doesn't fly, and she's getting bigger. Can't have her walking around in the snow. She'd leave quite a trail.

"Do not let what will happen later spoil what is happening now." Good advice from the witch!
I'm liking the way you are using Pink as a direct liaison between Aaron and the witch. She seems to be a key character among this happy band of dragons. Happy, that is, except for Black. You foreshadow some interesting times ahead when he gets the full use of his wings.
Another great chapter. Six all the way.

Thanks for the six! Poor Black hatched with no sense at all. The horse probably did him a favor. He's coming along, but there's no telling what he might do.

This is a great chapter, Cindy. There is a lot of info to process. but it keeps your story moving forward. The time ahead will be intense with much details to include. The dragons seem to understand the importance of this discussion. Thanks for sharing. Respectfully with Love, Jan

I do so enjoy this story, Cindy. Despite the witch's comment, I am like Aaron. I think of the dragons as children that aren't even half grown yet. This is a lovely chapter, the calm before the storm.

Blessings Julia

Thanks for the six! I'm so glad you enjoyed this chapter. They're babies, but they're not like humans.

It seems to be coming to showdown. I know Aaron will have to let the dragons go, but already I feel sad about that. Listen to me. You'd think I was talking about real things. That's how good this story is.

Hello to you Cindy Warren
When I read that Aaron must stay here. If Aaron dies, the dragons will die say I best continue reading and see if Aaron is going to leave..

Well I believe I found out that dragons will stay for a week, and Aaron thought he'd be flying by the end of the
week, and he had mixed feelings about it.

Or am I wrong?
Gert

Thanks. After the battle by the lake, there are lots of tales being told. The enemy will be looking for Aaron, and would eventually find him. He can't keep the dragons where they are much longer, especially Purple. They won't all fly off on their own for quite some time.

He's going to have to let his babies go, how sad. Guess I've known all along, but now it seems concrete, a done deal. I imagine their goodbyes are going to be teary. I'll probably cry too. I've gotten attached to the little stinkers. I do hope Aaron wins and he, the boy and dragons will be alright. This is a well-written chapter, interesting Your plot characters and dialogue seem real.

Thanks. Yeah, the next chapter is going to be a bit sad. But they're growing up, and I can't let the story get repetitious. Glad you're still enjoying it.

I've probably said it before but I love the fact that the dragons are named for their colours. I got lost at one point which I mention later but it might just be that I'm not used to fantasy.

I picked up a few small glitches:

"Where's this lady who knows what's going on when we need her," Aaron asked. - had you intended to put a question mark after 'her'?

but when he did he found himself with Blue - comma after 'did'

It seems they've gone to bed, then suddenly they're in the water. Did I miss something?

Enjoy your week
Judy
