I can just imagine this scene- pig music and all! These tales would make a lovely anthology with appropriate cartoons. It's just so Gomer Pyle-esque and I always liked Gomer.

Haha - what a fun romp! The name Smuckatelly is just priceless and sets the mood for this tongue-in-cheek story. The ending was a hoot. That's worse than latrine duty. Well written and entertaining! Hugs, Lou

Hello mystery writer. I enjoyed reading you're short about the wild boar hunting bare-handed in Germany. I was stationed there for two years and every time we were in the field I made sure I was always near a vehicle. Good luck in the contest.

This is a funny story. I loved the ending. I smiled the whole time I
was reading it. Even the title of this story is funny. Good luck in the contest.

Going after a baby wild boar? Brave or stupid? I'm not sure which. Maybe it was just plain desperation to get the four day pass. I' m sure that momma pig was desperate to retrieve the baby and I would not want to face a wild boar momma.
Well told!

A very well-written humorous short story about the brave D
Smucjatelly getting the wild boar and a four day pass for getting the commander's wish to obtain a wild boar.

This meets the contest requirements splendidly as you deliver a complete and humorous story. I love this guy as he always seems to come out smelling like a rose no matter how bad he screws things up LOL. Good luck in the voting and thank you very much for sharing it.

Well, it could have been worse, but I don't know how. This little story is wonderfully written and I love the picture. Best of luck with your book!

Have a great day and God bless.

Smuckatelly strikes again. And he provided a real and tangible service to his regiment, and his country.
I have no pig in the race, Author, but maybe Smuckatelly is a little too well known to compete in a blind contest? Just a thought.

Peace, Lee

    I only bring it up, because several years ago, I was in a similar situation. Since then, I keep my recurring characters out of blind contests.

LOL!! This is hilarious!! I can't wait for the one when Smuckatelly marches a captured battalion of enemy soldiers into camp...lol! ;) Thanx for sharing and best of luck in the contest! ;)

Oddly enough Schweinfurt means Pig Town in English --> Oddly enough, Schweinfurt means 'Pig Town' in English [or you could italicize the words Pig Town]

Huffalump wanted --> Huffalump, wanted
