This is really good and very funny. I believe that when we're gone, this is how they think sometimes. You would think that you had been gone for a year with some of there reactions. I enjoyed this humorous and well written work. Well done!

Oh Marilyn, this is such a cute poem. The end gave me a giggle.
No Alexa can say what she wants, but the dog is not crazy.. Dogs hate to be left alone, some are very patient and some not.. Loved this one. Fia

Hi Fia. Thank you so much. Emma gives me "the look" when she knows I'm going out without her. They're so smart. Marilyn

Marilyn, that is so cute! The picture and your poem really put a big smile on my face. Bless him. Our pets do get upset when we go out, it's quite understandable too. I love that Alexa tries to put his mind at rest, that was a touch of genius. This is a great contest entry, the rhyme is perfect and the rhythm flows like silk down the page and all in all it's a wonderful contest entry. Well done and good luck! :)) Sandra xx

Hi Sandra. Thank you very much for your review. They DO know when we are going out without them. My dog gives me a real guilt trip. Marilyn

How precious--the poem and the cartoon! Your poem really gets into the mind of the poor lonely, anxious dog. The gadgets that are so popular now are amazing--and a bit eerie!

Hi Janice. Thank you for your review. I suppose they COULD be a good companion if the "machine" played the pet parent's voice. Marilyn

This poem, Anxiety, is a funny and nice and rhymed verse. It's amazing what responses can come from this AI device. I sometimes ask questions of others in the same room and get a creative answer from the Echo.

Hi Bill. That's interesting. So Alexa DOES attempt to answer the question? LOL! Better than some husbands who don't hear a word wives say. Thank you for your review. Marilyn

I love this poem. As much as I love very deep poetry, I also love poems that make me laugh. Our two dogs go wild when we come home from work every day. I always wonder if they're thinking this might be the day we never come back. I would give anything to know what goes on in a dog's mind. And I must admit that Alexa scares me. If I had one, I would feel like she was watching me!

I'm LOL. I agree Therese, I'd be afraid she/he/it was watching me, too. My pup lays on the guilt--just like your two. At least they have each other for company. I used to have more than one dog at a time, but right now just one dog and one kitty. Thank you for your nice review and fabulous rating. Marilyn

So, AI has evolved to the point of being able to lie... could electronic devices ever be more human? It does make one think about the implications of technological advancement. I would have a "?" instead of the "," after "humans", but it's only a suggestion. Very nice job with this, and best of luck in the contest. Craig

This made me smile Marilyn, I wish I had a six for you! It is inventive and fun and I can see dogs being walked by robots in the absence of their owners! Ha ha ha, Your last line is magical, love Dolly x

Hi Dolly. Someone is going to make a lot of money if they invent one with the pet parent's voice to soothe the dog when they go out. Thank you for your nice review and thought of a sixer. Marilyn

That's funny, Marilyn! If I had a sixer left, you'd have another one to add to what must be a mounting aggregation. I, also, lately have suspected that devious Alexa of obfuscation. Thanks for corroborating that. I'm going to give her a piece of my mind! (Even though I really can't afford it anymore).

If I remember correctly, when we met, you admitted to having an under-developed giggleability. It clearly is considerably improved now, and I hope perhaps you feel I deserve a figurative pat on the back for my contribution to your remarkable adaptability.

Wishing you more of the best,
Don

Hi Don. I like that term, "underdeveloped giggleability." I DO laugh a lot. I'm a little slow at getting a punchline, though. It's got to be pretty obvious for me to get jokes. Thank you for your nice review and virtual sixer. Marilyn

Hello Marilyn, this is a good, amusing poem, well written in rhyming couplets and a really good picture you have chosen. A good entry and I wish you well in the contest. Warm regards Dorothy x

Thank you, Dorothy. Animals seem to either shut down when their parent goes out or become hyper-anxious. I try to take mine with me when I'm going out. Marilyn
