reading this I think Linda needs to be the one going into a nursing home, one that cares for mental cases! Of course you're only 73! You certainly can't put short term memory loss down to dementia, if that was the case the whole world would suffer from it! I think you should cut all ties with this woman and stick with your true friends. Well done on standing up to her!! :)) Sandra xx

I agree. I have blocked her internet and phone calls. I no longer want anything to do with her.

I'd say Linda has no rights whatsoever. She's not a relative. This, as always, is entertaining. Your sharp observations and tolerant and independent views are always a tonic.

I have encountered two of your rambles in one evening -- how fun. Linda is certainly a drag and needs to be weeded out. It's good to see you stand up for yourself.

I saw some little mishaps -- below:
*******************************************
I was also on a born on a Sunday.
I think you have a couple extra words in this sentence.

Linda says no, you are 74 already and am suffering from short term
memory loss and dementia.
Omit "am"

She sais being blind has nothing to do with it while insisting I have
dementia.
I think you mean "says"

How lucky I am to have such wonderful and dear friends?
This is not a question.

When someone tells me they are going to put me in a home, I get
defensive.
"matching pronouns" -- change "they are" to "she is" to match the
singular "someone"

I am so glad you have your two friends to rely upon as trust is essential in care-giving and it doesn't sound like Linda can be trusted at all. I saw this happen to a sweet woman I knew from church and the only reason she was attracting so many folks that wanted to be her overseer was the fact that she had been left a substantial amount of money by her husband. Eventually her sister nabbed her and sent her to a second-rate home (to save as much money as they could for themselves of course) where she was basically left to die alone. STICK to your guns and tell Linda to find a new hobby for herself. Well done and thank you very much for sharing it.

I have definitely put Linda on my stay away from list. I have blocked her calls and emails. I was so angry with her for suggesting I NEEDED to give her my power of attorney and new immediately to put a stop to any efforts to take over my guardianship. I trust both Veronica and Agustin and believe they are truly my guardian angels. They were angry with her too and want nothing more to do with her either.

I'm sorry you're having trouble with this lady. She certainly sounds very annoying. If she just stopped and thought about it, she would work out that you're not 74 until after your birthday. I think she might be the one needing a guardian. Is she a person who likes to control others? It's good you have Agustin and Veronica to look out for you.

Just a few glitches:

my fantastic and impressive computer skilla - typo - skills

without clarifying what month I was born, I looks like I am 74 - period after 'born' then 'It looks like..'

I was also on a born on a Sunday. - you have extra words in here. Delete 'on a' (after 'also')

Being blind is bitch, - word missing - being blind is a bitch

poor eye sight - one word - eyesight

With best wishes
Judy

Never give your rights to someone else, ever. You will never get them back. If you truly need a guardian, the court will appoint one. Until that time,, do your own thing. Don't call Linda. I had to cut myself off from my family entirely. Take care, my friend and stand your ground~Debbie

Goodness, Sasha, all you need is encouragement to keep on keeping on.

She decided to go back to family who will take care of her and probably just doesn't want to leave you behind. Since you haven't family there in AZ and you wouldn't be staying with her family, she is possibly thinking emotionally and worries about you so far away.

I do kinda wonder how she'll feel when her family decides to send her to a nursing home. Not the same when it comes down to it, right?

Avoid them til there is absolutely no other way.

Besides, now we are trying harder to provide in-home hospice care (when it is inevitable the patient is going to die) and wants to be with family/friends. It's cheaper by far.
Hope it really takes on soon, I'm not too far away ....

In Mexico people care about the elderly-ing and don't abandon them for others to watch over. You are blessed to have such loving friends. They sound trustworthy.

Do you have to pay taxes on SS? hmmm. I don't think so, maybe I'm wrong.

My husband never had SS but a retirement fund instead. Then when he went to Medicare he was forced to pay for every month of soc sec he didn't receive, in order to 'pay' for the service. He now pays monthly more than I do based on that scale. Confusing, huh.

I make very little, as I didn't work often after marriage. But, it's mine without taxes. So check into it.

If you come back you will need Medicare and that's where they might get you but I can't see that it is the same as my husband's situation. Good luck.

I stopped the monthly fee for Medicare when I moved to Mexico in 2007 and would have to pay all the months I didn't pay to get access to my SS, it would cost me a fortune.

You are still 73 until December 24, 2019. Then you will be 74 on that day. I am sorry that Linda is causing you distress. May you have a blessed week and may you enjoy the rest of your 73rd year.
