Hi raalf. this is a wonderfully inspiring poem and should be a fine note of remembrance to all who read it. I liked this stanza in particular:

"
I'll keep you there throughout the birth
Knowing a treasure and valuing its worth.
I'll not let my mind stray from your plight
The misery dealt you on that cold winter night."

I am glad I got to read this one and I wish you the best of luck in the contest. Bless you. Bob

Beautifully done poem. I loved the image and presentation of a light purple background worked well with this piece. The rhyme scheme was perfect and flowed well. Thank you for sharing. Good luck in the contest. Blessings. ~Brenda

"And on Christmas Day and the following days
I'll remember." It has always annoyed me that starting before Halloween, Christmas decorations go up and then, the day AFTER Our Savior's birth, everything comes down, even the manger scenes in people's homes. When a child is born, do we forget about it the next day?
I celebrate ADVENT in the way I would prepare a baby's nursery with an empty manger, then the Christmas SEASON with the Babe in the manger, Dec. 25 - Jan 6, when we commemorate the arrival of the Magi. Thank you for opening up this opportunity to vent!

Thank you for venting and reviewing at the same time. Epiphany is Jan 6th when the Magi visited and I always saved a little gift for my four boys for that day. That helped them be aware of the story of Jesus. So we're on the same page here. Thanks again for the visit.

You deserve seven. You gave me a chance to vent about one of my hot buttons. I did write a couple of columns about this.

Very good topic to write on, and you did a beautiful job. I get very depressed by the commercialism of Christmas. It's fun to give gifts to people that we love, but some of it has gone so overboard and there are children growing up that don't even know what Christmas is except for what they're going to get. You're rhyming is beautiful, and your use of words it's absolutely lovely. I love the line about the Magi. You chose a great image also.

Thank you for reminding us about the true spirit of Christmas. I enjoyed your rhymed couplets in quatrains as you retold the story, along with the parallel artwork. Merry, merry- Joan

A very well-written heartfelt poem about the birth of Jesus in our hearts is the most important thing we should celebrate. The gifts, trees, and Santa is just for making it joyful for the children, but they should know the real reason from an early age.

Your poem is so lovely, deeply spiritual, and creatively-written. Indeed, if we don't have Jesus in our hearts and praise Him year-round, what we do and say during the Christmas season is pretty pointless!

This meets the contest requirements beautifully as you deliver a well penned poetic piece with a spiritually moving Christmas theme. Your approach is refreshingly innovative as you use the 'no room' for the birth as the vehicle to convey the message of opening your heart to the as permanent guests. Good luck in the judging and thank you very much for sharing it.

Such a lovely offering that gently and reverently reminds each of us of the true meaning of the word 'Christmas' and the story behind it!! ;) This one carries a melody all its own, Raffaelina, and the reader can't help but want to re-read it a few times just to glean a bit more warmth and meaning!! ;) :) Well done and good luck in the contest! ;) Yvette
