This poem tells us of how we hone in on the material during a season that should be about love and thankfulness. I like the light of hope finally
shining through to the man at the desk.
Congrats on placing third in the contest
Keep writing
Happy New Year

That's lovely, Mark, also clever and a good Christmas message.
I like the meter and, of course, your thoughts.
Merry Christmas to you and your family and
good luck in the contest.

What a wonderful commentary (I think you meant it to be) on the world's hustle and bustle of daily living, completely separated from what is truly meaningful in the ''real' world.

This thought provoking poem really moved me. It is so true. Many people do live in a snow globe. I think your rhyme and metre are superb. Best wishes. Jen.

The snow globe is a wonderful metaphor for where we all hide, whether it is in our homes, our offices, or anywhere we can be alone. When we do that too much, we are missing out on the glory and love of the world. Most people do not even realize they're doing it. This is a beautiful poem and extremely thought-provoking, which is the type I like a lot. Good work and thanks for sharing. Good luck in the contest!

Thanks so much. I did intend the snow globe to be a metaphor - so glad that cam through

I love the way this rhythm, uneven though it be, forges every onward as we all weight for whoever to turn our world inside the snow globe upside down so the snow can start whirling around up blotting out the loneliness that being inside a snow globe would inevitably bring.

It was definitely an uneven rhythm - glad the protagonists marched on in spite of it all. Happy Holidays, Jim!

A very well-written poem about the snow globe we all hide inot our own home and not all is anyone to come inside but they looked inside where we are isolated in our domes.

If only we would all look up we might see and experience some wonderful things and people. But we are all caught up in our own thing to busy to help our or notice our neighbor.

I thought this was a truly beautiful poem, and enjoyed the way you described everyone as being in a snow globe without realising it. I did notice one tiny thing in your last line: "Tling our tiny pool..." I'm thinking you meant "Tying"? Not sure, but wanted to point this out.

Otherwise, it's a wonderful entry and I hope it ends up wearing the winner's trophy. Good luck!
