As I was reading your story about the boy named 'Twenty', I thought about the saying, "you are what you wear." I thought there wasn't any mention about his clothing, but it sure told of the qualities that he inherited from his dad. I'm glad that this story was fiction.

I think this is a good entry for the Twenty Short Story contest.
Your story of Twenty Twenty Paretti is well told and interesting, with a surprise ending.
Well done and I wish you luck with the contest.

Yes, I think the last line adds a lot. I love stories of redemption and you wrote this one in classic 'D' fashion. If you hadn't signed your name, I would've known it was you. It's much like my own story actually, coming out of a family of alcoholics. I chose to not drink but I can empathize with those trapped by the subculture inside a family's alcoholism or whatever sin separates them from God. Glad to be free.
Sending you my best today as always, and best wishes for the contest. (I, too, have a redemption story up right now. I hope you can come by for a review.)

What a gripping, tear-jerking story. It's a very interesting piece beginning to end. Your character seems real, believable. He really came to life. Your great word choice made the reader have empathy for him. Adding the fan, the crosses, the gazes and his feelings towards them made it seem even more believable. Great job, good luck with your contest. I think you should keep the last line. It gives the story closure.

What a unique way to use 'Twenty'. That was very cleverly done!!

What a sad story. I do know many kids are told 'You are going to be just like...' ...an awful curse to place on someone.

Best of luck with the contest. I think you will do fine!
