What a clever title and what a cool experience. I saw the Four Seasons in an outdoor concert when I was in high school. As a columnist I was able to interview George Dahlman of the Tokens. Here's my opening:

Taking measures worth noting

"A-wim-a-way, a-wim-a-way...In the jungle, the peaceful jungle, the lion sleeps tonight..."
Then you hear it. That mellow soprano sax in its brief eight measures just carries you "a wim-away."
George Dalman, the breath behind those magical eight measures, lives on as well, soothing the ears of several generations. He now resides in Atlanta and to listen to him talk about his life, it sound like he never sleeps.

(Dalman performs with several local bands through which he raises money for charities and mentors middle school students)

It's cool having one of those rubbing elbows with a celebrity - or better yet, four of them!

    Hello Susan.
Thank you for your positive review and I love the story about George Dahlman. I remember the Tokens and certainly that song.
I like your descriptive narritive from the article. Well written!
That's really cool that you interviewed him and wrote an article about him. The music from back then is so much better than now.
The Lion Sleeps Tonight was a great song and was a hit many weeks on Billboard.
    Robert

It's still a popular song. Our high school mascot was the lion and when our school closed down (after everyone moved to the suburbs) they posted on Facebook a gorgeous picture of a lion with the caption "The Lion Sleeps...)

My friend, that is wonderful! What a terrifically written story of a special day in your life. Many of the Blues stars I meet are great people who happen to make us smile with their songs.

Good luck in the contest!
Have a great day, and God bless.

This is an interesting and well-paced story of your chance meeting with a musical group destined for fame, but not yet there. Your timely delivery of the necessary keyboard may have made as much real difference to them as meeting them did for you, whether or not they remembered you as you remember them.

Not asking for autographs separated you from mere fans, and they likely subconsciously appreciated that difference. Many celebrities tire of fans who clearly want something, no matter how beset their target may feel. Besides bringing them the keyboard and setting it up to be sure it worked, you did not convey that selfish aura. No wonder they felt so comfortable with you.

Thank you for sharing the joy of that event in your life in such a well-told story.

Superb, and aptly illustrated.

I found your true story fascinating because it was so well told and also because I could relate--we are similar in age and I worked in a camera store while going to college, although I never had such an engaging experience. Being "friends" with the "Jersey Boys"--WOW! Best wishes in the contest- Joan

Hello Joan. My friendship with the Jersey boys lasted about three hours but it was a great time that I'll always remember. They forgot me when they left the concert hall but I have remembered them for lo these 55 years. They treated me very nicely and it was a great joy to spend that time with them. Thank you for your positive review and comments. Robert

Robert: what an interesting and unforgettable story for you.
I'm sure that the musicians also were happy to have a friend who
loved music. We all have talents and gifts. So glad they made you
part of their music family. Great story for the contest and very
engaging. flylikeaneagle

Robert: I'm sure that they made an impact on you. I worked for WGN-TV-Chicago and met people like Donahue, Bee Gees, Bozo and others. People can share good memories. Nancy

reply by the author on 12-Jan-2020
Hello Nancy. I'm in NC but I'm very familiar with WGN in Chicago. I used to travel to Chicago monthly on business years ago. I remember a disc jockey there a long time ago by the name of Dick Biondi. He referred to himself as The village idiot. I believe that is also where Chickenman started. I remember Bozo very well. That work had to be very interesting. Robert

Well told story - and what a great event. That memory will sure stick with you. I liked that you made many paragraphs - you moved the story along smoothly, not lingering over- much. And then when you gave their last names and the name of the group- it popped. Good job.

A memorable experience indeed and you tell it well, revealing the details of who they were not by bit in a way that holds your readers' interest. I enjoyed reading this one.

How exciting, Robert!! ;) :) That is so very awesome! :) Isn't it strange how little things that we do in our lives...live deliver a keyboard...turn into such a wonderful blessings to us? You just don't know, I'm still excited for you over here!! ;) :) LOL! ;) Thanx for sharing and best of luck in the contest! ;) Yvette

Hello Yvette. Thank you for the positive review and comments and for the best wishes in the contest. I see the corrections that needed to be made in punctuation. As soon as I have internet again I will get on the computer and take care of those. We have been losing internet every day and Spectrum has started to replace some equipment in the house but I can't use Internet and have tried to do some responses on my cell phone but that is far too tedious for me. I've been out of internet for 2 days. I'm not patient enough to use a smartphone as a computer and particularly for entering text. Z

I'm truly LMAO over here: we have Spectrum, too, and THEY SUCK... oh my goodness, they SUCK SO BAD!! :) There are times that my wifi goes to practically nothing and I have to switch it off and just use the 4G network... how annoying is that?! My husband took to calling them 'Rectum' shortly after we moved in here a couple of years ago... LOL! And when we have the boys home... Oh holy sh--, you can hardly get it to work...aaack!! Anyway, enough venting, just thought I'd say I understand completely... ;) ;) ;)

reply by the author on 12-Jan-2020
I've had so much trouble with Spectrum that we constantly have pixelation on our TV and my internet is down more than it is up. I like your husband's name of rectum for them.
It reminds me of a name I used to use for some people. I called them "rocket rectum." I say that because they are all thrust and no direction.
I had some grammar errors on stuff because I use an online grammar checker when I'm editing and rewriting. When I have no internet I don't double check my grammar as much because it is an online service.
If I ever get internet back, which is questionable, I'm going to be doing a lot of grammar checking before I post anything else.
The problem is here there are not options. I need to get internet that
works and start streaming instead of using cable. I won't be doing much more until we get some kind of internet access. Using my Verizon cell phone doesn't appeal to me. Z

Hello Barbara. Thank you very much for your positive review and kind remarks about the story. I'm not sure what they were like with everybody else but they were certainly nice to a delivery boy which is what my job was that day. That was over 55 years ago and I can still remember shaking hands with him and little bits of the conversation. It was an amazing time for me. Robert
