I think this is a good Witty animal 5-7-5 contest writing prompt entry.
You've mixed a whole lot of animal metaphors here.
Good luck to you with the contest.
Sharon

This is a very clever entry indeed for this contest. I get all the pins and innuendos. Your illustration is hilarious! Very well done. I wish you luck in the contest.

This witty 5-7-5 on animals, The Graduate, has the right set up and lets the sheep in sheep's clothing remind us that some goods have a sell-by date.

Thanks, Bill. And yet some goods keep putting themselves in the mix!

You've written an excellent 5-7-5 poem for the animal contest
with clever play on words and matching art work.
I wonder how many can remember the sixties,
but than again, few will ever forget Mrs Robinson.

Good luck in the contest

Thanks, Robert. I think I was just finishing high school when that movie came out. I had recently been introduced to Simon and Garfunkel's beautiful melodies as well.

Mutton is something that many people call a delicacy to eat. When a lamb is little they do become full grown and become available for mutton, too. I'm sure the sheep who remain for shearing only, are very lucky.

    Thanks, Rosemary.

I think you'll find that mutton is regarded as old and tough, whereas lamb is deliciously tender. Both do better with a sprinkling of rosemary!

This is an absolute scream, especially if you remember that Dustin Hoffman movie as I do and additionally happened to have been brought up on Aesop's fables, prior to graduation in later years amongst the cougars. I am now older than most cougars, but I loved this 5-7-5.
