I so agree that writing allows to touch the sky! I can relate to the feeling of elation when writing, especially anything surreal or ethereal! It's the spirit in me that soars when I write and that's what makes us feel like we are touching the sky and beyond! Thank you for sharing!! xoxo

I really enjoyed the imagery your words conveyed. It was so easy to picture the little boy yearning to reach the sky. I am so happy that writing poetry took you to the limits that you longed for!

Yes, everyone has an imagination, but writers can describe what exists even beyond the sky. Here's hoping you can delay that touch as long as you want to.

Thank you for sharing this lovely sonnet, JayBird! I know how you love poetry and I can relate to the "high" when we can creatively express our thoughts in verse.

I agree with your words here, we can experience so many things within words as it is how we feel that matters most and your poem set me free here, much enjoyed, love Dolly x

Dear Jay,
A delightful, sweetly naive and touching poem in your usual excellent rhythm. So many of us have felt the same desire to "reach for the stars".
You would know that the motto of the Royal Air Force is "per ardua ad astra" -- "through struggle to the stars". Nothing in life is free.
Regards
Reg

Beautifully penned in your favorite light blue formatting, Kay. A fine one and a testimonial to your sharp mind and keen spirit. I suspect you'll be ready when you go lookimg up.
Sending you my best today as always,

Great work Jaybird. You took a child-like dream and made it a physical happening. And, you did reach the sky. As far as the last, long years on earth, We all come there soon enough.

sounding good my friend you lead with the heart and finish with the soul a great combination and a deliberate and delightful pursuit to which the voice is clear and a strong desire met in the embrace of dreams where we all long to be for a happier existence. I am glad your poetry takes you where you need to go the higher the better ...
