-I love the image, Sally.
-The story is written very well, too.
-The first section with her thoughts
about Manny and the letter are very romantic.
-I find it interesting that they are both models.
-You do such a good job with these letters.
-I wonder if you actually wrote a lot of letters yourself?
-I like how you include Owen's thoughts
about the letter working its magic.
-Manny is overjoyed, but soon concern
and anxiety overtake that feeling as
the train is late, and there isn't any word about it.
-Unfortunately, the cloud of smoke appeared,
and Manny had to find out why, even though
I'm sure he was fearful about it at the same time.
-The ending is sad, but also shows deep
love between this couple.
-I was wondering about the marriage being
official since Manny just said it, and
also about including the son at the end,
with no mention of that early on. Just a couple of thoughts.
-I enjoyed the story.

Aw, dear Pam, thank you so much. I am always so honored by your reviews, stars, and compliments. It means so much to me. The legalities of a wedding are easy to take care of, especially in a hospital that has clergy available 24/7. My husband is retired from ministry, but he has performed many weddings in all kinds of places. All you need are vows of mutual consent and one or two witnesses to sign a certificate, and then it is filed in the county court. Jackson and I still have our little certificate dated December 1975, and signed by two witnesses.
Again, I am so blessed by your review and kindness. Sending you my best today as always,
Sally xoxo

You are very welcome and deserving of the stars and review, Sally. I know what you are speaking of, but I missed it in the story. Thanks for the lovely reply.

Hi Sally,
Very well-written! This is sad, but so well told it seems real. Easily worth six stars. I think it tells us to be true to ourselves, and not get caught up in our careers. Life is fragile, handle with care.
This reminds me of a poem I wrote back in 2010, "Myna Chaucer", about a famous ballerina whose train was blown off the tracks in World War II. Celebrated while she was a young star, that train wreck broke her back, ending her career. It was her whole life. She ended her days in quiet loneliness, selling fine English china, cups and saucers she wrapped in blue boxes. Once a polished dancer who twirled an audience from their seats, but now couldn't stand up straight.
Manny & Theresa should be up for Story of the Month, assuming they still have that contest.
Thanks for sharing!
Cheers,
Kimbob

Thank you so much, Kimbob. I am deeply honored, once again. I'm so glad you enjoy my writing. It means the world to me. I will definitely check out Myna Chaucer in your portfolio. I am almost finished with my novella and cover art and hopefully I will have more time next week. I hope to have my novella published by the end of February. I hope to finish before that but each day is a gift and my eyesight uncertain. I press on. You're a blessing!
Sending you my best today as always,
Sal xo
