I love your pointing out " We also know by the Scriptures the Old Testament Prophets indeed "saw" the Kingdom and wrote of it, as they were guided by the Spirit." as I did not grow up with biblical teachings. Also, my 72 years old eyes love the big type!

Good treatment on the phrase, "Born Again." I liked how you showed its relevance despite the fact that it wasn't mentioned but with Jesus. Yet Jesus explained things in a way that brought to bear other scriptures that help to complete our understanding of it. Nice job.

Speaking as someone who is "born again" Denis, I simply "saw" who Christ was, I never knew the connection between God and Christ was until that moment, but suddenly i did, it is quite literally an encounter, from not seeing to seeing, like suddenly looking at a clock and telling time. I remember that moment too! And of course the decision of belief is still in one's own hand, it's a great privilege to know, as the bronze serpent by Moses Lifted on a pole, in Numbers 21:9, to look on that, saved them dying from the snake bite, was by faith. You have explained the new birth process nicely. It must have been hard for the people of the old testament to understand such a concept. I wonder if some of them did not associate it with reincarnation since some in the new testament believed Christ was Moses or one of the old prophets who had returned. I do wonder if they were able to see the serpent in the Wilderness as a prototype of Christ.

    It's probably somewhat like today as far as perception of God's truth is concerned. Jesus told His Jewish opposition, "Abraham saw my day and he was glad." I am sure there were other believers in Abraham's time but unless we draw near to God and listen, our perception is correspondingly less than it should be. God bless you, Dennis

Unfortunately a very true perspective on religion. I'm not particularly a religious person because of such misinterpretations of the testaments, wether intentional or though ignorance. I myself believe that if I'm a good person then hopefully that is enough.

    If any could be good enough, God would not have sacrificed His own
    Son to remove our sin in His sight. And then He was resurrected to prove our debt to our Creator was paid in full so we could enter into a true fellowship with Him here and now.

    Please reread what I wrote? God loves you and has made a perfect way for you. "Good enough" will never be good enough compared to God's perfection.

What a wonderfully written explanation of being born again. I noticed that it took the deaths of 23,000 people before they found their sin. I love these Bible stories explained on here, there's another lady who explains verses. Best of luck with your writing!

    Yes, we all are slow to learn, and some learn too late, but scripture tells us these things which happened in the Old Testament are "for our edification upon whom the end of the age has come."

The old testament shadows the salvation picture with the serpent on the staff in the wilderness. All the Israelites had to do was look upon it. Salvation has been simplified in Christ, but still a response of faith on our part is required. Well conveyed here today.
