Hi Bill, This is a really fun poem. I loved all of the stocking puns in the last two lines and especially in the last line the commentary on society. Good write :)

A very thought provoking piece Bill, nice use of metaphors and great imagery which can be interpreted in a variety of different ways which is very clever! I kind of have this sense of dreaming of liberation from societal shackles vibe but I can read between the lines and interpret each line differently forever! An interesting read, very nicely done!

Bill, This is a very interesting and well written poem about the sock dream. You used great descriptive words and very good imagery from the art work you chose. I enjoyed reading and reviewing this. Blessings, Teri

This is a well-written, thought-provoking piece. Great use of metaphors. Comparing society's downfall to something that has no means of protection, support. Nicely done.

One question. Why do you have my missing socks? This illustration is somewhat creepy, as it is a painful reminder that I have lost more than a hundred bucks on lost socks in the last year. It appears that they all wound up in some guy's drawing.

These socks may have volunteered. Can you imagine the life of a sock?

What a great thought--dreaming of socks in a world without shoes. This sounds like it could be for the Fabulous Free Versers Club assignment to take a letter and write a poem using at least five words that begin with that letter. Some great alliteration going with Soleless Society. That's also quite meaningful. Great presentation. judi

LOL!! Well, if you were going for the penultimate in double meanings and illustrations in metaphor, you have certainly done it here! :) Think this one could be 'picked apart' a number of different ways, Bill -- great job! ;) Thanx for sharing! ;) Yvette
