This is wonderfully descriptive, and I barely noticed that each stanza began with a question. This flowed so smoothly. I love cats, and thought you did such a wonderful job describing their unique qualities. Congratulations for taking the blue ribbon on this one. It was certainly well-deserved. Hugs, MM

Dear Sister Xine, this composition is absolutely divine! Congratulations on your well deserved win!!! I wish I could cut and paste my favorite strophes. Loved "sashay"--and "stroke her silken fur." Ahem! Suffice it to say the last two made me wish I had a cat such as yours! (Silken fur. Silken fur!!) Ohhhhh! xoxox Seraph ~

I have three cats, and they're all moochy and sweet! I adore cats, as this poem shows.

Thank you again, my dear friend, for reviewing another one n two, and for giving it a six!

Our little girl cat does the sashay...it's so cute lol!

I was impressed with the imagery and comparisons in this poem. Lines I particularly liked...'like the ferryman you'll pay before you cross.' Fagan and the Artful Dodger great comparisons. sleeping like an embryo, curling a paw around her head, only a few of the delightful images.
The alliteration is lovely. The only problem I had was the cat's comparison with a thief...check your possessions. I can see him/her stealing food but not possessions. Probably being pedantic. Well worthy of a exceptional rating.

Ah, the comparison to a thief was more to do with how agile they move, and how silently they move...all traits of a thief!

Thank you for a very thoughtful and thorough review, which I am very honoured to receive, and the six stars adds to the effect, trust me lol!

This is a really good question you have penned for the writing prompt entry. You used very good descriptive words and very lovely imagery from the art work you chose. It all goes together so well. thanks for sharing. Blessings, Teri

LOL!! Femme fatales, eh? I will have to run that one my sweet, bumbling Bella: runs (literally screetching sometimes!) at the sound of the crinkling of one of those flimsy little grocery bags and is convinced (I'm sure of it) that my feet are mice under my bedcovers (when she's not sound asleep on them)! ;) Love your poem, though, awesome to think of a proud feline to whom it would apply! :) LOL! Thanx for sharing and best of luck! ;)

Thanks Yvette, all two of my cats are graceful "femme fatales" while my third is a clumsy clot by comparison! I love observing cats tho, and very much appreciate your lovely review and description of your "bumbling Bella" lol!
