You did a fabulous job with this script! And I hope you'll write more scripts in the future! Enjoyed the humor and I liked how Mrs. J caught Kelly's consistencies and knew what to say to get her off the phone. Best wishes in the contest!

Those kinds of telemarketers are so ridiculous aren't they. Great job with this piece glad you were able to expose those horrible get rich quick schemes that these parasites try to pull on people. This was a very funny and well written story. Keep up the good work.

I enjoyed reading your contest entry. Yes, those scams are everywhere and many people fall for them everyday. I don't understand. I guess they're fast talkers. Good luck with the contest.

I think it is mostly the elderly...I know my father never trusted anyone but when someone called and said they were from the bank, he gave them all the information they asked for. It was a nightmare!

Hello Begin Again, a spectacular Saturday to you. I hope this finds you well. That was a humorous script, thanks for sharing. I now know that you have to ask questions about an all expense paid trip as it might be you paying all the expenses. Good job and good luck. Have a great day!

Hi my friend...So nice to see you stop[ping by and enjoying my comical little story. It wasn't so comical when my dad fell for the scammer (said they were his banker) but it's fun to make fun of them when we can. You have a very special day..Smiles to you!

This was quite an entertaining story. I loved the interchange between the scammer and the supposed mark.
I laughed, when she pointed out she would be paying for everything in this all expense paid trip.
Best of luck with the contest.

"What? How can someone else claim my vacation if I won it?" You are sharp, Mrs. Jessup!

Love it! "All expenses paid", once YOU submit a check...

I think it would have read a little easier- not centered? .

Best of luck with the 'They Could Have Said...' contest.

Sorry about that....I have been working on my first major movie script and they prefer conversation to be centered...Guess I fell into a habit. Thanks for reading and enjoying.

LOL! That is exactly how it goes, isn't it? I hate these awful phone calls, promising you goodness knows what and it's all just a scam. You wrote this perfectly, I could just feel that operator start to squirm, and how funny that you missed out just at the moment your police sergeant husband was mentioned, lol. Loved this script, and good luck in the contest. :)) Sandra xx

Good morning Sandra! Thanks for reading and enjoying. Yes, haven't we all had these annoying phone calls, trying to swindle our money away from us. My 96 yr old dad fell victim to one of these calls and they have no idea how much damage they did to him. I am glad I could turn the tables on one scammer even if it was only fictitious and on paper. Have a great day!

This is a great entry in the 'They Could Have Said' competition. I didn't pick up any spags and no suggestions for improvement. It's fine as it is. Well done.

This is a great little scammer and victim story with the victim outsmarting the scammer in the end. It behooves us all to be on our toes and think carefully when receiving calls from strangers. Good work!

We got scammed today! A postal delivery boy came out with a package that is paid for at delivery. My daughter thought her father or her husband ordered something so she paid 799 baht ($26.63). Boy, was she furious. ha ha She called but they only had initials for the sender and a fake address. Good lesson.

Oh how terrible! Anyone would have made the same mistake. Don't know how people can live with themselves, cheating others.

This was fun. I think we all dream of the things we would like to say to telemarketers. They really must think we're stupid. I find it hard to believe anyone would fall for these calls. However, they wouldn't keep making them unless they caught a few fish.
The golden throne bit was funny, but I might have left out the smell phone. Don't want to go too far down that rabbit hole. The pace was great.
You must have listened to James Veitch on TED Talks. His responses to telemarketers are hysterical.

Afraid I don't know who James Veitch is but if he feels the same about scammers as I do....Hurrah for him! Thanks for reading and commenting. Have a great day!
