Oh, such a melancholic and yet wistful offering, Melissa -- Beautifully done in so few words! ;) Yvette
Please understand that this is a ridiculously abbreviated (and cut/paste) response for me, but I have been (still am!) in the midst of converting everything to online learning for the mandated school closings for the foreseeable future. Once I get 'ahead' in this 'change of venues' (i.e., instruction in cyberspace - lol!), I promise to be back to 'me' in my responses... you know, the crazy blonde fantasy chick! ;) ;)
Be safe and, remember, if you see any offerings/reviews from me, they are my 'escape' from this insanity... you know, my pressure release valve!! ;) ;)
Take care of you and we'll be sailing smoothly again in a few more days... hopefully!

The scent of roses will never get old for in this life memories are always fresh like a kiss in the wind they are always there. :) Melissa, where you been? Hiding from the computer, stocking up on supplies, dug in for the worse that the world gives? Live today worry about tomorrow... tomorrow. :) Take care.

This is a nicely composed Cinquain, Melissa. I wish you much luck in the contest with this fine piece. Scents do remind us of times passed. Well done. Marilyn

I admired your appeal to our sense of smell and your use of alliteration to intensify this reminiscence. The title and picture you selected reinforce the feelins perfectly. Smiles- Joan

Hello Melissa,
You've written a splendid poem using both the sense of smell and sight
in the moonlit night with scents of roses.
Scent will often trigger wonderful memories, especially those of roses.
It appears there is a touch of sadness, as the couple in no longer together.
Beautiful picture to match.
Well done.
Best wishes to you.
Robert

Awe, Melissa, this such a short but a delicious poem. Yes, if you want to remember, then think back on the scent of the old roses. What a romantic poem this is. A joy to read. Ulla:)))

Hello Ulla. I truly thank you for your lovely remarks. I am sorry I have gotten so far behind on your fisherman story. It has been one of my faves to follow. I have been so busy with other things and distractions too that FS has been on my back burner. :). Hope to fully return soon! Thanks again!!

Hi Pam. Thanks so very much. I have been out in the garden and my new rose bush is coming along nicely... cannot wait for the scent of the roses! I am doing well, just very distracted lately. I appreciate the review.

You are welcome, Melissa, and thanks for sharing about your garden. I think we are all distracted, if we weren't before.

A very well-written short free verse poem remembering the moonlit roses on the moonlit walks with the fragrance swifting in the air.
