Indeed, finding truth in your given conveyances, wrapping within its views historical as well as beliefs features of time. I admired the writer chosen theme and its various delighting statement in their suggested viewpoint. All stated in my opinion.

Dear Ross,

No sooner had I started reading than I realized that those symbolic expressions used were a perfection description of the Lion of the tribe of Judah -Jesus Christ. E.g Moses' staff, David's sling, Gideon's armour, Samson's strength etc. Perfect descriptions merged up together. Great piece of poem. I love it

Right on! I think you got a lot out of this read as Lion of Judah is one of the key images and parallels. I'm glad you were able to dissect it and find all those key images to memory. Thanks for a great review!

Ross,

Oh my, Ross. This is brilliant. I love all the history you included and the different characters we've learned about, Biblical and mythical. It's like the lion, Christ, is interwoven throughout history and mythology. He's always been here in the heart of John on the island of Patmos, and in our hearts today. His strength in our hearts cannot be conquered by any enemy.

Exceptional!

Patricia

I am very honoured by this. :0)) I like your name, Patricia, and my pastor in Phoenix Arizona has the same name, Patricia King. I'm delighted to meet another Pat. Have a wonderful Easter! God bless you and yours as we take time to reflect on this true message this season.

My favorite part was, "As the golden mane
Of the lion that is tame
Strikes their hearts
Of blackened stains
And in Christ we rise again", because it describes conviction and being born again In Christ!

The Lord led me to this verse after I read this,

Proverbs 28:1 New International Version (NIV)

28 The wicked flee though no one pursues,
but the righteous are as bold as a lion.

Ross,

Nice job. This was definitely a free-style poem, but I understood your message. The devil may have his day, but there's an end coming to it. And the end shall be something to see, indeed. *smile*

I was reminded of Hebrews 11 as I read. *smile* That 'roll call' of all those wonderful heroes of faith. You did something very similar here. Nice job! Thank you!

I loved your post. It mesmerized me as I read it. I could visualize the lions of the past, Samson's fight, Noah's gathering, Daniels Den and even those which tormented and killed the early Christians.
Thanks for sharing.

This is a bold posting with excellent Biblical and mythology references. It does suffer from the lack of an obviously inconsistent rhyme scheme. It is, however, a poem eliciting a repeated reading and further pondering upon the message.

This rating does not count towards story rating or author rank.
The highest and the lowest rating are not included in calculations.

Your mere knowledge of both biblical figures and mythological figures truly impressed me, but that you can intertwine them as you do to make sense of their significance is truly awesome. The picture and font color really enhance your well presented message.

Ross: stars for you for this wonderful witness to the world.
I like how you mention the heroes and bad guys and gals.
We walk by faith and spend time in the Holy Book.
I pray you are well and welcome to FS. In Christ we overcome.

Fav - The golden red rose
And horse's mane
Mixed with royal blood
With chivalry and knight's armour
The prince of Christos overcame

God bless. flylikeaneagle

I really enjoyed this poem, and though I know you were writing about ancient stories, many of the lines resonated with me and with what I feel like is going on in the world lately. I particularly felt this verse:

Triumph over the red dragon
Whose destiny is doom
Yet not too soon
Until the seraphim tune

Hope you are well, and thank you for sharing this!
