congrats on your first place.
I was trying to figure that out logistically and it seems to me he shot the cameraman. But I get your meaning and I kind of feel the same way about Alexa. I think she tracks me. She's greeting me now, by name, and asking questions.
Anyway, neat story and poor guy, following protocol, being good.

Thanks. I was trying to get cute with the ending and thinking of the series finale of The Sopranos where the screen goes black as a way of hinting at the death of Tony.

Charles Bronson is an old time favorite I loved his none expression when he did his thing. I guess a sniper has to be real serious and not get into laughing or those other emotions that could hinder his profession. I also remember the Hitman that was a good sniper as well thank you for sharing it brings back memories

Hi Mark thanks for sharing about the Sniper but as I asked you previously did you see the movie The Hitman that was a good one The Hitman was the Bomb!

reply by the author on 10-Apr-2020
    Hi Mary,

No, unfortunately I've never seen the Hitman - that's with Chuck Norris, right? I'll keep an eye out for it.

The Sniper

Hello my friend

Nice entry for the
100 Word Story writing contest. It's very interesting. The watcher becomes the watchee. I guess he had the virus and a sniper was going to take him out. You managed to add a lot into the flash fiction. Well done.

This is wonderfully written. I don't often give a six-star rating. I like the way that you merely suggest the ending instead of telling it straight out. I also appreciate that this is an actual story and not just a vignette as so man of the other entries in the contest are. Microfiction is indeed an art, and you have mastered it with this story. I recommend that you add one word to this and submit to a publisher of 101-word stories (I can't mention any here because that would be an advertisement).

This is an appropriate write just now and if only this had happened to the first person who was affected by the present virus and the world would have been saved by the death of one man! I have never heard of this movie before but it sounds exciting, love Dolly x

This one hundred word story, The Sniper, has the right word count and reminds us all of that great show and how the twists at the end always took us by surprise. Great story.

What a great story-line for your 100 word flash fiction.

It is a complete story- just like it should be!

The picture was a perfect match.

Best of luck in the 100 Word Story writing contest.

Me too. I guess that's why it appealed to me so much. It had the feel of a Twilight Zone episode :)

Super story! What terrific storytelling - you should write lost episodes for the twilight zone.... the light and shadow creates a horror story that could be true. Charles Bronson was a great actor - I remember him from the seventies. Quarry is a good name choice.

It's interesting what some people notice and others are oblivious to.
